Yeah, the actual thing is 2.5k, a cheaper way would to be let one of my guildies do it if I bought the pattern and the mats for him.
You only need like 4k to do VoA. You can be carried no prob.

Do dailies for various factions, and also the dungeon/pvp dailies.
That could get you a few hundred a day.

Best way I found is to do BGs alot, and turn the rep in for gems, get them cut (20 str and 30 int sells well usually) at roughly 6pm server time on a wednesday
recieve money overnight, repeat
