It's like Vampire Bloodline's combat, which I thought was terrible. You basically run backwards and attack enemies that mindlessly run at you and sometimes spam spells that may or may not always home in and hit you. It also has the Champion's Online thing where you have some attacks that charge power and other attacks that use the power you charged like finales, but really it's just 100 damage then 500 damage.
I saw the trailer on youtube like a month ago and it looked like a psychological thriller then I research to find some MMO, apparently all sects have the same cutscenes and missions are all the same according to all the LPers I've seen.

I am not trying to defend the game i don't care i was just saying a lot of games have the same combat system with spamming buttons all day long. As for the combat, they will most likely fix it and its not like you have to grind 24/7.

Those games are bad too. They need to do more action-y combat so it would be like TERA, except not for pedophiles.

Those are bad games.
Action bar, hotkey-based combat can be done well and has been done in varying forms really well for decades.
The Secret World is not an example of this.

Thought the combat was okay. It reminded me of Hellgate: London. The story stuff was very interesting and you can tell a lot of time was put into that aspect of the game. I wouldn't buy the game for $50, but I'd probably spend some amount of money on it at one point.
I feel sorry for the poor schmoe's the shelled out the hundred or so bucks for a lifetime membership.

Hey if they like it more power to them. I hope for their sakes that the servers stay active long enough for them to make a return on that investment.

THAT'S why I feel sorry for them; I mean what if this game flops and their hundred dollar investment just... vanishes? Or worse yet, becomes null and void if the game becomes free to play within a month or two.

I would think, like Age of Conan, they would flesh it out as long as they can. The game was pretty fair from the beta I got to play in, but it didn't have a good draw to keep me hooked. It'd probably be better off as a F2P with a cash shop, as I thought they were going to do that in the first place.
Also, people who usually buy that and a game goes f2p get some special rewards.

seriously i had been subscribed for a few months and i still couldn't go to all the dungeons and shit when it went f2p
I was tempted to buy this because head start was friday. I love the setting, areas and the way you can pick to do what quests you want as long as they're not too difficult. The main gripe and thing that really kills the game for me was the combat. Yeah I know this has been said over and over but it's terribly bad. There's no impact to any weapon sets at all and ontop of that every weapon just felt way too similar.(ended up maxing 2 sets from assault rifle, shotgun, bloodmagic and swords).
I really wanted to buy this but ultimately the combat is not fun at all and seeing as that's what you do the most of in an mmo I feel game play should come first instead of making the zones look great and going on and on about how we can do what we want and that there's no levels. even though technically there is but just not as prominent as other mmos.
but yeah.. combat is so bad I didn't buy it.
