No other source mod to my knowledge lets you play co-op on it so be grateful. 8)

Which directory is it for HLSS?
I put it for the obsidian folder, no-go, then the HL2DM folder, still no-go.
Also tried the SDK Base folders and that still didn't work.
I got kinda the same problem as Jerichode. HLDJ does not want to work with OC.

If i where to join a server that is playing through episode 1 or 2 campain would i need to have both episode one and two installed into steam to play? because they are on steam but not installed.

Yes, you also need to mount them in the Mod Options.
