I could barely do those Ut2004 Trickjumping 'trial' maps.
Then I look at the videos in this thread. Lord, I can't even bunnyhop.
Heh, I've always been pretty good at bunnyhopping in any of the Quake games, Warsow (Quake 2-based) and especially in CS:S.
Believe it or not, but when I was working with a Quake 2 port for the PSP, I would play around in several jump maps like these and I could actually complete them with the PSP's abysmal controls. I remember doing it online and people not believing I was on a PSP, though it did take a shitload of time.
Can't believe nobody has posted phoon - too much for zblock
Actually, I play most of my singleplayer games for the story. When it's an RPG, I make up things about my character to give him or her more depth.
Yeah, you still don't get anything out of it. You put into it, and you get out fun. Nothing in real life really changes because of this. It's for fun. There's nothing wrong with that at all. That's probably the same reason you map, for fun and no other reason.

I love those hitboxes.
Moving so fast when he shoots that leg shots count as head shots.

Too bad he gave up after the bhop update.

but you cant blame them for thinking he was hacking, it does looks like it

He had no recoil, he probably was hacking
Counter Strike is usually like that. Someone jumps around a corner and manages to headshot you across the map with an AK.
I wonder how much he spent on his 'Gaming' hardware.
Also, Rap. (insert stereotype)

It's Counter-Strike: Source. Go into a pub and ask someone what recoil or spread is and they won't be able to tell you.

If you want to get better at strafe jumping or bunnyhopping, play Warsaw. I swear that thing made me hyper as fuck when playing shooters.

His reticule wasn't changing size because he didn't have the dynamic crosshair active, you can turn it off in CS:S.
It becomes plainly obvious when he switches from the deagle to the AK-47 and back. Not hacking, just he doesn't want to see his crosshair jumping all over the place from bunnyhopping.

The crosshair doesn't indicate recoil it indicates spread, he had no recoil in the video, eg: his view wasn't forced up when he shot.

that's because it's spectator mode.

I mean it's being played through a demo.
I remember my younger brother playing CSS on my account, and all he would play is bhop. For his birthday I got him a copy of CSS and within a few months he racked up 300 hours. He is better than me at bhopping now.
They have interactive tutorials on Quake Live to teach you how to bunny hop, but the best one is learning how to rocket jump. There is some fucking crazy ass rocket jump challenges and it gets really into depth.

Demos have recoil, you're thinking of SourceTV, which the video probably isn't.
Bunny hopping in TFC, quake and hldm/hl2dm is awesome.

I played this a lot when I was younger, but forgot what it was called. THANK YOU!

I think I saw some upward kicking, but to be honest there was so much view bobbing from the bunnyjumping I can't really tell, and that part with the triple headshot with the deagle was a bit suspicious. :raise:
His crosshair bobs when he shoots but not much
obviously a command that reduces bob.
He uses a CRT because it has a 100 Hz refresh rate.
His crosshair bobs when he shoots but not much

No. That's not bobbing it's called RECOIL. There are no commands to "reduce" it.
Daikatana is piece of crap, but it has really fun Quake-style movement techniques and weapons, such as a shotgun you can use like a jetpack to glide between platforms, a double-rocket launcher that can send you really high up in the sky, powerups that, when combined with other weapons and tricks, can easily make you hit the top of the map, and it has all of the typical Quake 2 movement techniques like strafe jumping. It's fun just hopping around the map like an idiot and trying to scale parts of maps with a certain weapon, like the shotgun. In fact, I'd say it's more fun than anything in single player except Episode 2.
I've been tempted to make a few TFC/Quake-style trick maps for Daikatana just so I can jump and float around a map designed for it, but I'm too arsed to do it.
