Computer Hacking Simulators (Information on: Uplink, Hacker Evolution, RVL Hacker)

I love the desktop 'skin' for slavehack now, it's so cool for a browser.
Heh, I got back on the Uplink bandwagon after getting RVL Hacker on the game giveaway and I am strangely more awesome than ever.
fucking uplink, I choosed 1600x1200 and I unchecked "FULLSCREEN" now the app start but I can't click on anything on the login screen or anything, I have to ctrl-alt-del to close it. tried reinstalling it but it didn't help. People on uplink forum also get this but no answer was proposed
It's been a long time since I last played uplink, playing it now but there are no missions I can accept and my bank account is empty, so I have a fine to pay in 3 days. I think I fucked up somewhere :downs:
They delete accounts caught 'cheating'.
Yeah, but I can't even start a new account now, it keeps saying my account/password is wrong.
On slavehack I am going to get 5 IPs then open 5 tabs and hack them all at once.
I was playing Uplink, it said I was caught hacking into a server, even though I always deleted the logs! :(

Its not slavehack, there is more then just logs that can get you caught.

But I always went through InterNIC, and then deleted the admin logged in and connection routed through logs.
And I quite often deleted the logs that said I logged into admin accounts on servers I was hacking.
So no idea why I was caught.

I did a few times accidently connect to some servers without bouncing my connection, but I didn't try to hack them or anything.
The guy's a noob, here you go:

Yay another spam drone :D
Total slaves 32
Slaves spamming: 12
Still need some better tools before I can make cash :).
Hid all his files.... I'm such a asshole.

What version log deleter were you using?
I had an idea just today for a game like this, except it would involve hacking the telephone system of the past era (around the 1960s to 1980). This would involve the infamous blue box, and a general knowledge of how the system worked at that time. it would be a lot different from the games described in this thread, but I think it fits in the same category.
This would certainly be hard to make as a game, but I'm sure a lot of people would really enjoy it, including me.

The 4th.
What Trace Tracker?
What Trace Tracker?
Traces how long till you're tracked.

Anyone know where to get some anti-virus software in Slavehack?
Mine got deleted! :(
Banks usually have them, but they are always camped so watch your back (logs)

Thanks.
And I just hacked a guy who NEVER cleaned his log, I'm downloading something off him, then deleting his shit.
I'm also going to hack his bank account.
Always route through InterNIC as our first bounce point.
Always delete "logged in as Admin" and "connection routed to" logs on InterNIC after EVERY bounce connect. (you can direct connect to InterNIC, they never trace you)
Laugh as every passive trace never finds you.
:D
W00t, Thankyou, Very Useful, Hah, I'm gonna try hacking a fuck ton of bank accounts XD
I've only played Uplink. Great game but it really annoys me when I'm in fast forward time and I get an email (fine email) then 2 seconds later I lose the game. If you bounce off lots of servers do you still only delete the logs from the last server you're actually browsing on?

No.
Think about the SysAdmin's experience; notice something's happened on his server, open his logs, and find a connect/disconnect log (if you've kept things clean) around the time it happened. (If you leave the logged in one, he knows exactly which one did it.)
That has an IP address, and can contact that server for the bounce log, and the next, etc etc.
If that bounce log chain isn't broken somewhere, he'll find your Gateway PC.

If you go through InterNIC and delete the admin logged in and connection routed through logs, shouldn't that cover your tracks well enough?
I also delete the logs on the server I'm hacking that say that the connection I'm routed through logged into the admin account, and delete teh logs of the stuff I've done while on there.
Trying to work out how I was caught so I can avoid it next time.
Do you even have to delete the logs on the server you're hacking? Isn't it sufficient to delete the logs of your first bounce point? (uplink)
I reckon a game studio should make a good CHS(Computer hacking sim).
Most of them are just not complete, if you know what i mean.
Lol, Uplink isn't tough at all. In fact, all you have to do is about around 10-15 delete or steal missions and grab the hud-connection analyser and then the proxy bypasser. Then do the first story mission.
Wait for a trace a balance transfer or trace unauthorised money transfer mission to appear and complete it. Keep the account and bank IP.
Once you've cleared your logs, bounce few a through internal machines that you have already cracked admin to and connect to the bank. Log into the account and run the proxy bypass, transfer the cash to your account and delete the transfer logs in both accounts. Then connect to internic and get rid of any trace of your routing. Use v4 log deleter.
You'll get a huge rank increase from uplink if you got away with it and have tons of cash. Enough to buy ANY gateway, all the hardware and software in the game. It's almost cheating to rob a bank because it's so easy and you get so much.

This thread is now about uplink!
Yeah, all you have to do is delete admin logged on and the routed logs. Just make sure that InterNIC is your first bounce point. That way it's the last one they scan in the passive trace, which means you get the most time to get rid of the proof of your crimes.
Deleteing your logs on the target machine is a waste of time as you still leave a disconnected log. I guess it's only useful for that one mission where you have to install the tracer program on the ARC machine.
Uplink FTW, i love this game.

If you delete the admin logged in logs the password doesn't get revoked.
And sorry OP for derailing the thread! :v:
RVL hacker is pretty fun, just crashed when I completed the first mission though.
FUCK
I accepted 3 missions in a row, and the files they wanted me to copy aren't on the server(They're all for the same server).
>:(
I accepted a mission that required me to do things I couldn't yet do, and I was broke. So I just got advances on other missions, got the money, bought the software, completed all the missions I got. :D

I always get advances at the start, so I can buy the log deleter v4.
