Alright, we are taking that video down and putting a new version up ran in our mod.
Hopefully not the video you have up there at the moment.
Why do you go into the vent in the first place?
Our new version explains it, In our new map, your in a hallway. You see a vent shaft with a grate over it, you obviously cant pull it out. You go in other room ( Tim ran right to vent ) and went in, he happened to find a crowbar so when he goes back to the other room to break the grate and go in That vent since the one he found crowbar in was a dead end, E-Man came up so he was like Whoa. Then when he walks to door he fell into a hole.
Looks good, though again, the props flying everywhere can easily kill a player, challenge or not. The player was nearly killed while recording.
Yea i'm going to tone down the force of the props being moved in the next Finished version, since the one we just, put is pretty much done but this i guess.

Not sure if it's possible, but is there not some way to make the props go around the player? I've never used Hammer or anything so I don't know :/
You need to make the props prop_physics_multiplayer, then you can't get killed by them ever, and make sure to make the trigger_push only go on for a second, and not forever, that way the props aren't forced into the wall. What did you guys think of my background map anyways. It's gonna be changed to have scanners and stuff going around, but not yet.
1. The props still looks very unrealistic the way they are pushed into the wall. They look forced, and ultimately crap. 2. The room still doesn't have much of an atmosphere. 3. The combine door is still in there, it completely detracts from the rest of the map. I suggest you stick with a theme and run with it. 4. The vent to find the crowbar just looks wrong. Possibly a better way to do it would be going into a kitchen area or storage room and finding it there next to some crates. Randomly finding it in a vent that just so happens to not have a grate- looks suspicious. Last question, are you testing this before you release a video, these are all points you should be picking up on immediately. The background map looks like you have taken a section of hl2 and shoves a bunch of combine and rebels in. Nothing really original.

(or do they?(Invisible angry E-Man ftw)) 2 If the room didn't have much of an atmosphere, then how was I breathing. Also, I didn't know that the room was a planet. 3 A door is a door. (unless if it's one of those awsome rotating doors, then it's a toy XD) 4 The crowbar will (unsure of when) be replaced with sheet metal. And yes we are testing the map before releasing a video. The idiot that records the videos (me) is slightly retarded and has a severe case of ADHD. (yes I do)
1. When they hit the wall they should be allowed to bounce a bit, not forced into the wall. Because the metal shelves don't have any damage physics the look terrible. 2. You know what i mean. 3. The door doesn't fit with the rest of the human architecture. 4. What the hell is a sheet metal? It looks like you are not showing the map at it's best, more rushing to get something out. Down that path lies a mod/map collapse. I know this well.

What am I supposed to do? Look at the white spots on the walls?
3. Its a cafeteria...the door doesn't fit the rest of the theme. Fix the door and it will start looking a whole lot better.
3. Its a cafeteria...the door doesn't fit the rest of the theme. Fix the door and it will start looking a whole lot better.
I do agree with you, it's just, I barely ever map, so Holiest or Legend286 will have to do that.
One question, are you talking about Alma as a creepy kid from F.E.A.R. or as a deli. <-- Deli
I think they were talking about Alma from F.E.A.R. [editline]05:42AM[/editline]
Moddb Page http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-down
fixed the link. The 1 at the end was unneccessary.
Why did you add gman to creep us out? i hate scary mods.
I have a quick idea for the demo map- maybe, while the furniture is being flung around, you could push the player back against the wall (and pin them there)? That way, it feels more like the invisible force is more directed at the player, not the furniture. Also, it would add to the surprise of the breaking floor bit- the furniture stops moving, everything is quiet, the player is released, there appears to now be a clear path to the door, then ohshit, pit of doom.
Thanks for all the comments people, go to moddb, new content.
do you want a aditional voice actor? i aways wanted to voice act c:
How old are you, can you be a voice of E-Man?
If you still need custom sounds, I can provide hundrends, weapon sounds, impact, ambients, you name it.
So you have a custom sound of G-Man talking saying Hello Mr Coons...
We need an animator/modeler now. Or no sheetmetal melee weapon for you.
If you still need custom sounds, I can provide hundrends, weapon sounds, impact, ambients, you name it.
Sounds Gime NAOW Or i'll cut you
Sounds Gime NAOW Or i'll cut you
Tell me what you want first
PM each other, not talk about it in my thread.
-bump- Becuase we still need the modeler/animator
This mod looks awesome, but i cant model/animate.
This has a long way to go but it's good to see that you have done some actual work instead of just begging people to do everything for you. So good job on that. Keep on going and you might just end with a nice and fun mod.
