Why is the rest maps of GTA and GTA2 is still not included in the OP, op?
Add them later on
I have been playing GTA SA too much.
Reinstalling Episodes From Liberty City because I got a new PC.
i7 870 2,93ghz
GTX470
4gb ram
Win 7
Will it run with a good FPS on max 1680x1050, or is the optimization too horrible.e
Currently playing GTAIV. I can't play MP because it disconnects me constantly because my computer is too slow.
Impressed I am not.
But apart from that, I generally like the game. I think it's a shame that they cut out the cool vehicles like the tank and Apache, though. No longer can I go on wild rampages through the streets/air... :(
The devs of IV must've thought Realism > Fun.
The devs of SA obviously thought the opposite.
You clearly didn't play GTA IV correctly, if you didn't find it fun.
Plus, the story is a shit ton better than SA, or any GTA in fact; made it a nice change.
Add me on Steam or Live so we can play GTA IV PC!
Add me on Steam or Live so we can play GTA IV PC!
I wish I could play with you. :(
i hope the next one takes place in San Andreas there only been 2 games there so far
I don't get why people hate on GTA IV for being a tiny bit more realistic than SA. It's so much more fun because of the physics and Euphoria. SA might have a lot of stuff like planes and shit, but IV's core gameplay was so much better.

No one hates GTA IV as far as I know. Only few idiots that I don't even bother listening to.

Well, the only people who hate GTA IV are the ones who flame it for being "realistic" and not "super fun like san andreas".
I started playing IV again, doing vigilante missions. It's a lot of fun, acting like a cop and chasing criminals down side streets, taking the odd pot shot at them.

I thought it just as fun as San Andreas. Both had their strengths. The fact both are able to suck me into their worlds is good enough for me.

Get EFLC and play TBoGT. Tank comes back and there's a nice attack Heli called the Buzzard.

Plus the other people complaining about GFWL or Rockstar Social club or the horrible optimization.
The only one I could even see the point in is the last one.

but you cant speed around corners like a maniac anymore
/sarcasm
Anyone have any experience with modding GTAIV, specifically EFLC/tbogt and specifically with the cargrp.dat and vehicles.ide files, i'm trying to get mission exclusive cars like the shorter limo and police bike to appear around and be driven on streets and i can't seem to get it.
I didnt really like Carl Johnson. I really like Niko Bellic, he is awesome.

All of the IV era protagonists are awesome in my opinion.
Niko, Johnny, Luis, and Huang.

Oh and I just beat TBoGT.
That was an amazing ending.
And now I have no more stories I need to play.
Don't start a flame war.
I'm sorry :(, I wasn't trying to. All i was saying is it would be sick to have gta 5 based around san andreas with euphoria.
GTA V needs to take place in Philadelphia.

If you like playing as a cop, I recommend this to you. It's really fun and basically just adds on to the vigilante missions. Only problem is that you'll have to start a new game.
I really liked GTA IV but I wish they had like flying cars and fun cheats.

Oh snap, that looks awesome. I wish GTA IV for the PC wasn't so insanely glitchy though
Anyone else think GTA V could be set in a bunch of different places? Like how San Andreas did it, except with like wayy more cities.
I think it would be cool in shanghai or something.
GTA IV was the first game that actually made me feel insignificant to the world around me.

Get an in-game trainer.
I am still very dissapointed at the lack of cheats in GTA4. I expected a lot more.
Not even a god mode.

I have the same specs but an i5 750 @ 2.66 ghz and can max it at 1080p with about 55 view distance

The reason behind this is because Rockstar was unfamiliar with their engine, not having much knowledge to it. That explains why GTA IV is more limited than San Andreas.
I thought it just as fun as San Andreas. Both had their strengths. The fact both are able to suck me into their worlds is good enough for me.
I remember re-playing GTA SA earlier this year after some years of not playing it: "OH SHIT A CANE AS MELEE" .... "OH FUCK A HUNTING PRECISE SHOTGUN?! AWESOME!" ... "DOUBLE WIELDING WEAPONS!" and things like that. No really, who thing they played GTA SA a lot, but haven't played it in a while, play it again and you will be amazing how much content it has that you forgot.
And cheats in this game...

I can get medium quality settings on my GTX 260 core 216, Phenom II X4 965, 4gb RAM, and get 60 in some areas, 50 in most, and like 45-50 at night with nighttime shadows on medium. 1600 X 900
Edit, I thought it was on high, it is medium, sorry about that. Same FPS though.

I don't think that is even suits as a theory. They made it, ofcourse they are familiar with it. Modders made trainers with huge amount of functions after 1 month. And they didn't have source code or knowledge on the engine.
The real reason is that they experimented with realism and seriouseness, to see how player-base will react. It failed and they added some cheats like god mode to RDR, but you can't save when you use them - this is still an experiment, but I think that giving you a lot of fun crazy and un-serious things and not be able to save your game after that is better than not give you them at all. I don't save after I play for laughs anyway.
