I have my own vanilla server which I build myself. In order to host Minecraft, I even took a faster internet connection. Friends were playing for a month or 2 until they got bored and paused their Minecraft interest. in order to promote it I decided to make it public for a week or so.
After 3 days watching the console seeing people play I logged in to see how stuff is going. Numerous people had joined and build their stuff, everything seemed fine. Unfortunately no whitelist request yet so promoting didn't go as planned.
Suddenly I noticed that some of the buildings were griefed... Well it happens, it's public, vanilla so no anti griefing mods. I assumed that the people getting whitelisted weren't griefers and if they were it would be easy to unmask and ban them.
Some guy was watching the griefed buildings and said it was unfortunate that it got griefed. All of the sudden out of nowhere there spawned like 30+ ghasts, blowing up everything in the surrounding area. That guy staring at the griefed buildings started to spam "WHAT THE F*CK" in chat and finished with spamming "BAD ADMIN".
As of then I enabled the whitelist again and my server still remains empty.
my worst experience: Me and my freinds galastrato and hel build up a really awesome sky castle platform thing, it it ginormous and awesome. then some asshole comes over to my hole that I live and mine in, steals all of my hard-earned shit and then kills me and takes all of my inventory.. then, he joins my town (galastrato let him in, he didn't know about him trying to kill me before). While in the town I live in, he immediately griefs the spawn with a "suffocation block" rig. UGH!!!
It took a few minutes to get rid of him, after he had made an ugly cobblestone house on the sky platform and annoyed the balls off of all of the moderators and admins on the server.

The admin thought it would be cool to spawn an enderdragon near my island. He was on creative mode and I was the only one on (I was on survival mode.)

It was my old server, I ran it for a community I was in, stuff were great and all until some asshole leaked the IP on 4chan, one day later the server was in shambles, BigBrother didn't restore stuff for some reason so me and the rest of the people had to REBUILD EVERYTHING, and that's when I put a fucking whitelist.
Also with time people became annoying babies who whined and caused drama so I couldn't take it so I shut down the server for good.
Oh god, vanilla craft. A story of woe. Everyone blamed me for griefing and stealing shit, but it was never me.
Never really play public, only with self-owned/hosted servers with my pals.

I ran a massively popular minecraft server, and one day (23/50) a few people joined and started to ask who was the owner. I thought something was up but responded anyway. One person (cocothecat11) said there was a new exploit out. His 'friend' then decided to back him up and say he had heard of it. Then I was invited to test his plugin out. I deoped myself on my server (SessionStealer) then I joined. Lo and behold it was a trap. I don't know how but they got op fucked it ALL and then banned me.
I once joined then got banned instantly for no reason.

A bunch of jerkoffs on my first ever Minecraft server looted my underwater dome and led a bunch of creepers inside. I wasn't that angry until I noticed that the diamonds I worked so hard for were missing. Then shit got real.
I ended up getting banned because the admin refused to do anything about it (All I wanted was for the others to fuck off) so I burned down the community tree house that stretched up to the sky limit (this was during 1.6). Taught those fuckers real fast :v:
After a long and rewarding mining session I type in /home. Surely enough it took me home, 100 blocks below home, which resulted in suffocation. There goes 10 diamonds ;_;
I spent a week going to x1,000,000 z106,000 on 2b2t. then I invited x0xp. it was my fault, but sucked. I thought that town would have been great.

A day later I build a quarry and don't put worldguard on it.
2 days day later I join to find the quarry has been destroyed and a sign planted on it says "you have been griefed by apoloneus but we have been defeated again by icerockit" (again, only words to that effect and badly written)
me "/co inspect" *click sign and griefed block*
output "placed by: icerockit, 41h ago"
and "removed by: icerockit, 41h ago"
I checked user logs, and no player called apoloneus has EVER joined my server.
so I jailed him for a few days and sent him a message telling him I can see who has done what and he should stop griefing. He kept sending me messages saying it wasn't him, and then because I'd removed his home from the town as a side effect of undoing the griefing, he starts leaving signs around threatening me to either put his house back or he'll start posting on youtube about the server and getting people to come on and destroy it.

I was searching for a friendly Server.So there was I, it was a small, but nice server.
After a while, I noticed some guy, that was like spying me while standing on a tree.I told him if he could leave me alone, but he just didn't answer.
So, I just thought he won't do anything since he was just standing and watching me.
After a while, I noticed he went offline.
The next day, around the same time, he logged in, saw that I made some small progress.
Suddenly, he just walked into my house, went around( I had no chests sofar since it was only a small woodhouse )and said "A nice house you got there!Thank you for giving it to me".
In the first place, I didnt understand anything.So I told him it is mine and he should go out.Then, he just pulled out a ironsword and killed me.
I never found back since I didnt actually know where my house was.
So I asked him why he would do that and he just didn't answer.
So, asking some people if they could help me made me realize that guy that stole anything from me was an admin.
I was super sad :(
It was also my first Multiplayer experience I ever had on Minecraft.
Me and my friends decided to make a town on a server that was "very" close to another one. The owner of the one nearby ran to our place and claimed our land so I couldn't access my chest that had a stack of diamond blocks and other fancy stuff in it :smith:.
Later that day we mined lapis lazuli (not sure if failspell) to make a floor for a HUUUUGE town spawn. We build the spawn and it was mighty, 128 blocks of lapis as floor and 60 blocks high. Claimed the area but the whole place didn't get claimed, so some fags decided it would be fun to hack up our lapis, and when we called an admin he said "YOU CAN IF IT'S NOT CLAIMED" we had to give up a days work :C
Same day still, my friend wanted to buy a town for 500k, he had a million econ (ingame cash) and that was a LOT of money. Guess what? We paid him, he went afk and didn't come back 'til next day. When we wanted our dosh back he said "ROLLIZ123 NOOB" multiple times in chat and said he didn't scam anyone.
Worst. Day. Ever. :C
