I've played many an RPG in my time, so I understand that a certain amount of reading comes with the territory, however I picked it up so I could play a game, not read a novel. It seemed every five seconds I encountered a memory trigger or whatever the hell those were. Also, I felt the characters were plain and generic, maybe not so much Kaim, but the tag alongs for sure. Perhaps it's just me and I've outgrown my interest in RPGs, I'm not sure.[/release]
God I swear I wasted years of my life reading about wind people.
Alone in the dark on Xbox 360/PS3 was good
Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs Death would have been fantastic if done right.
What they could have done to make the game better: have online coop and MP that actually worked.
Actually utilized some of their fucking models. In the campaign you see the same goddamn models over and over; the same 3 zombies, 2 vampires, 4 citizens, 2 cultists and two judge variants do not do the game justice.
You see the other models in the game so infrequently, that they may as well not have been there at all.
Seriously, there are like 30 models in the game, and you see the majority of them only once before you never see them ever again.
Actually making a story that made sense wouldn't have hurt too much either. Zombies and Vampires? What the flying fuck? I bought a Dredd game to shoot criminals in the head! They could have done so much with the story, actually make it so that several death cults spring up instead of one, would have gotten better use out of their models if they did this.
The arcade modes needed more maps. They got damn lazy, and several arcade modes take place on the same map.
Better gibbing would have been nice too, shoot someone in the knee or shoulder and their arm or lower leg gets blown off, stuff like that.
A reason to use any other gun aside from judge weaponry. Seriously. virtually every weapon in the game is horrendously inferior to the Judge equivalent. Because of this, it is almost impossible to die unless the AI decides to act smart and rush the player in a great human tide with a wave of lead preceding it, or you unwittingly stumble into a large group of them.
if all those things were implemented, JD:DvD would have been a reasonably decent game, with a good chance that its player base would still be intact.
The game itself actually has probably around a good
[release]Assassin's Creed:

A game that had so much potential ended up being nothing more than a glorified tech demo. It was incredibly repetitive. I found the historically accurate time period to be quite boring and uninspired. I quit after realising that I was repeating the same tasks in a city that looked identical to the last two I had just completed. I expected a hell of a lot more from the company that developed the Prince of Persia trilogy.[/release]
EXACTLY. Altair is a fantastic character, but honestly, the game was fucking awful.
Age of Empires 3
just way too awkward compared to the other age of empries games

AOE 1 i liked that game then tried aoe 2 too ugly then 3 ugly too
i have to say the first one is way better
Fallout 3. The combat system didn't know what it wanted to be, and it's buggy as shit.
Fallout 3 didn't suck but yeah there are parts of it that could have been better
AOE 2 was my personal favorite
I prefer the time period and how my forts looked kickass
GTA4. They could've optimized it better :'(
Half Life 2. Wait... OH SHI-
GTA4. They could've optimized it better :'(
wait for patch 5
Fallout 3 didn't suck, but most of the DLCs should've been part of the original game. Also, there are a number of hilarious bugs that disrupt the mood, such as the spaghetti raider. For those of you who haven't seen that, it's when you kill a raider (or any enemy) and their limbs grow really, really, really long and they spasm all over the screen. It's...interesting.
Far Cry 2 could've been less repetitive and had a better combat system. Although the map editor is downright amazing, so that makes up for it.

That happened after I killed the sniper on the bridge that leads to The Pitt. He went fuckin' crazy all over the place and then flung into the water.
Stalin vs Martians.
Great concept, could have been better by actually making it a fucking game.

THAT CROSSES THE LINE
Lost Odyssey was awesome
although in relation to your story, I didn't like the game when I first got it. I got the the first boss fight and got my arse kicked so I didn't pick it up again for like a month.
Kane and Lynch.
I hate it with a passion.
The first half was a great game, second half was terrible.
I like to think of the first half as Highlander and the second half as Highlander 2.
Gothic 3. If only it had more polish
Splinter Cell Double Agent :911:
And L4D could've been so much better. [sp]And with more content and support.[/sp]
[sp]and with more content and support.[/sp]
l4d2
Wrath of the lich king. They broke pvp, basically, suddenly everyone could hit for 6k+ and a burst from a couple of characters could easily take someone down, even if they were getting healed. In BC, yeah druids were overpowered but it always felt like you COULD WIN. You only lost if you fucked up, and even if you mess up once or twice you can recover. Now, if you make a tiny mistake like blinking over the magical YOU CANT CROSS THIS GRATE IN THE FLOOR you are dead.
Mirrors Edge.
Mirrors Edge.
This man speaks the truth, it was a good game but could've had better mechanics.
Assasin's Creed was horribly repetitive, it helped taking a month long break though.
You've got a point there, Assassin's Creed is a damn good game for the first 40 minutes, after that, it's rinse and repeat. More variety would have helped, let's hope AC2 is better.
l4d2
That you don't have to pay for again
Been said, but The Force Unleashed...
"Yeah, let's buy exclusive rights to an incredible destruction engine, then only use it for doors and a couple iron bars."
Great.
Mirrors Edge.
I thought that game was awesome, I was having so much fun, jumpin' over shit and slidin' under shit an - It's over.
Waaay to short in my opinion.
I agree with this if you compare it to the originals, if you look at it as just another RPG all together it is pretty awesome.
its an RPG? hmm.
Far Cry 2 should have been way better by the way, same goes for Too Human and Force Unleashed :argh:
Force Unleashed.

This game doesn't suck, but it could have been so much better.

They thought they could use money to sell their game for them, paying Korn to make a song, having contests etc, instead of actually making a decent game.
I was seriously pumped for this game after hearing my favorite band made a song for it, but I was left disappointed.
