I think so. I played through an hour or so of it, then realized that I probs want to play Penumbra first. As long as you have the fortitude to continue, I think it's a decent deal. Personally, I'm a bit tied up between Hitman, Stalker games, Dead Space, and Mafia II. I'm willing to buy multiple, but I don't want to get games I won't play. Ideas?
Hitman, Stalker games. get those first. HANDS DOWN. I've played so much S.T.A.L.K.E.R. it's astounding. Dead Space is boring and repetitive, it's not even spooky, sorry. I can't speak for Mafia II, but Hitman is p.cool. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/f2BqM.png[/img_thumb] No further comments
i don't understand, sorry.
i don't understand, sorry.
Tabarnaco always goes around attempting to rate games solely on their metacritic score, yet he doesn't like a game that has a fantastic metascore.
Tabarnaco always goes around attempting to rate games solely on their metacritic score, yet he doesn't like a game that has a fantastic metascore.
>85 >"fantastic" Over-exaggerating much? Also, I didn't play it.
I just got the stalker bundle, considering the others. I feel silly though, what order does the Stalker series go in? Google was... not helpful
>85 >"fantastic" Over-exaggerating much? Also, I didn't play it.
If you didn't play it you have absolutely no say about it. And further more yes, an 85 for a niche horror game made by like ~3 guys is pretty fantastic
It's pretty funny seeing you getting your panties in a bunch because of a rating. And popularity has absolutely nothing to do with how good a game is.
I can't buy stalker :(
It's pretty funny seeing you getting your panties in a bunch because of a rating. And popularity has absolutely nothing to do with how good a game is.
Oh I think I get how this works. When you think a game is good, the Metascore is as important as the Ten Commandments, but when you disagree with it then clearly it must be wrong. Nice double standards.
I just got the stalker bundle, considering the others. I feel silly though, what order does the Stalker series go in? Google was... not helpful
Chronologically: Clear Sky, Shadow, Pripyat. Order meant to be played: Shadow, Clear Sky, Pripyat.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. In fact that's actually more like how Facepunch (as well as other sites/forums/communities) is using reviews.
Um, okay? That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. In fact that's actually more like how Facepunch is using reviews.
Yes it does. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
It's pretty funny seeing you getting your panties in a bunch because of a rating. And popularity has absolutely nothing to do with how good a game is.
Well then tell me, what other way is there to tell a game is good?
No, it does not. If you can explain how it does however, maybe you will be more convincing.
Also, I didn't play it.
then your opinion is not valid
I never said it was either.
Well then tell me, what other way is there to tell a game is good?
Hahahahaha, you've got to be kidding me. Claiming that the majority is always right is just a horrible horrible argument. Look up ad populum. Hint: CoD is popular, Facepunch hates CoD. Is Facepunch wrong, or is the majority wrong?
I never said it was either. Hahahahaha, you've got to be kidding me. Claiming that the majority is always right is just a horrible horrible argument. Look up ad populum. Hint: CoD is popular, Facepunch hates CoD. Is Facepunch wrong, or is the majority wrong?
Facepunch is wrong. Since good is a personal opinion, and people massively playing a game must find it good, majority wins, Therefore the game is good.
I just got the stalker bundle, considering the others. I feel silly though, what order does the Stalker series go in? Google was... not helpful
Order of release is Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, Call of Pripyat. Chronological order it's Clear Sky, Shadow of Chernobyl, Call of Pripyat. And Clear Sky has spoilers for Shadow of Chernobyl.
Also facepunch doesn't hate CoD, you have a certain amount of people that jump on the bandwagon because they have nothing else to do and hate a game because they can't afford to buy it.
I never said it was either. Hahahahaha, you've got to be kidding me. Claiming that the majority is always right is just a horrible horrible argument. Look up ad populum. Hint: CoD is popular, Facepunch hates CoD. Is Facepunch wrong, or is the majority wrong?
I don't understand where you come in, though. I'd take the majority over someone who has not played that game at all. Sure, the majority isn't always right, but in this case, the majority says what they think is fun. I think that's a great first indication.
Or you could play it in order of least-likely-to-piss-the-hell-out-of-you Which would be: CoP, SoC, Clear Sky
Facepunch is wrong. Since good is a personal opinion, and people massively playing a game must find it good, majority wins, Therefore the game is good.
That is a horribly fallacious argument and if I could rate you dumb a million times for this I would. I don't think you looked up ad populum.
I don't understand where you come in, though. I'd take the majority over someone who has not played that game at all. I never said that the opinion of someone who hasn't played a game is worth anything, just that popular opinion is not always right.
Damnit my credit card is still being denied sorry guys no raffles from me.
Thanks to those who showed me the order :] I don't understand why Clear sky wouldn't be in the bundle though..? [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
Damnit my credit card is still being denied sorry guys no raffles from me.
As in being held? That happened to me when I gifted to people on my friends list. I changed it to instead send to emails, then it worked fine. Strange, eh?
Thanks to those who showed me the order :] I don't understand why Clear sky wouldn't be in the bundle though..?
I think it's because CoP is treated like an expansion to SoC or something like that. Stupid reason though, it really should be in it.
Hey, can someone recommend any must have games for me to grab in the sale? I already have quite a few games but don't want to find out that after the sale that I missed out on a great deal. <My steam profile is there.
For new page due to lack of replies.
For new page due to lack of replies.
From this sale: Amnesia Killing Floor Dead Space STALKER Hitman Collection GTAIV Collection (if you can run it)
That is a horribly fallacious argument and if I could rate you dumb a million times for this I would. I don't think you looked up ad populum. That's not really the point. There are only two ways of knowing if a game is good, the first being trying out the game for yourself, the second being trusting other people's judgements. ad populum does not apply to everything.
