Yeah go ahead and add me, since I ordered one.
Help?
I bought the pack, and when i click on my purchases to the account it just says Penumbra Overture.
I did not fucking buy Penumbra, glitch?
Hi Thechuz,
The reason it says that is due to you buying the Pistol Grip Bundle. Since Penumbra is included in the bundle, it is listed on your account as a purchase, so no worries =)
Johntnovint is reading this thread, hi john!
Hi Sappinmynick ;)
Glad to see the thread up and running!
Best,
johntnovint
Oh thank god.
I cant wait for it to arrive, enjoy my money :D
I wish I had the money for this. I've only got half in the money or I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Hopefully they have a after Christmas sell, If they do I'll likely pick one up then.
Welcome to the new thread John, good to see you stopping by :)

If you shoot a mail off to Tom (the CEO) I'm sure he'd do a deal for you for when you get the cash - when John pops in next maybe he can give/PM you his email (I can't remember whether I'm allowed to give it out or not, it's his more-private email).

I'd hope so. Plaiyng TF2 with this thing would be awesome. Me and a friend have been talking about buying one of these for a long time.

Thanks Thorny =)
As for e-mailing Tom, you can reach him at tf2contest@novint.com. He will read all e-mails sent there and reply as soon as he has a chance (which can be a little while as he's very busy :)) In most cases, we will try to work something out with you if you can't buy the Falcon now, but unfortunately I don't know if we will be able to offer this price again this year, but we will do what we can to get a Falcon in your hands =)
Ah yes, that's the one I should have remembered to give out :P
Anyway, email him and say I sent you, explain the situation and beg ;)
[editline]26th November 2010[/editline]
Also, I forgot to mention earlier, it's not £150, it's $150 - that's more like £96.
Anyone tried l4d2 with it?
Also, do you just turn it on and say, load up L4D2 and it will automaticly work?
Does it have very basic support for all games yet? (ex: look around, fire)
Thanks Thorny =)

They mention on the website that they're going to be releasing drivers near the end of the year for ever game.
https://home.novint.com/store/promote.php
It's down towards the bottom, Under "The Novint Falcon Game Library."
Anyone tried l4d2 with it?

You can definitely do that with L4D1, I believe L4D2 has great official F-Gen support.
Does it have very basic support for all games yet? (ex: look around, fire)
Yes, certainly.
Some games have their own 'F-Gen' drivers which can do things like recoil, movement forces, weight, etc etc. It depends on the game for the level of driver support, but things like Black Ops, MW2, etc have great drivers.

Keep making a fantastic product! Hopefully I'll be able to afford one by Christmas :saddowns:
When someone decides to hire me. :saddowns: :saddowns:
Do the drivers for the Falcon use more processing power than any regular mouse drivers? Will it make any noticeable difference on games that I have a little trouble running?
Also, are there 2 cords coming from the Falcon? 1 USB and 1 for power?
-snip-
Since I'm very close to purchasing, I want to ask a couple more questions.

The drivers will use more, but I'm pretty certain they won't affect your game performance.
And yeah, one USB, one power cord come from the Falcon :)
Nicest company ever, thats why I bought a falcon :buddy:
Any company who goes to other forums and registers to help people is pretty awesome.

Hi GrassyBat,
In regards to the drivers, if you are using the Falcon with any HD titles (Such as the Orange Box games from Valve) there should be very little performance hit, if any at all.
F-Gen, our proprietary driver that offers support to replace the mouse entirely with the Falcon, may be more CPU intensive if you are running an older single core or dual core processor. However, if you have a newer dual core or any quad core, you should be fine.
As for the cords, there are indeed two. You are also correct in stating that one is for USB, and one is for power =)
Best,
johntnovint
So if I wanted to play l4d2 with the Falcon, do I download the F-Gen drivers for it, install them and then I'm ready to go?
Also, is Bad Company 2 supported?
And how long would it ship from the USA to the UK? :D

I think I'm right in saying most Source games have native support for the Faclon. So you won't need any extra drivers.
Nicest company ever, thats why I bought a falcon :buddy:
Thanks for the kind words =) We just want to make sure that every customer gets a top notch experience, and also that everyone get's their hands on the true replacement for the mouse in gaming ;)
I might try to snag one of these for Christmas, looks quite fun.
I think I'm right in saying most Source games have native support for the Faclon. So you won't need any extra drivers.
You are right Wiggles, but Left 4 Dead 2 is the exception to this rule. However, do not fret, as this game is supported through F-Gen =) You can check out Left 4 Dead 2's game page at the following link:
http://home.novint.com/games/games_list.php?c=6&id=219
Be sure to check out the 'Free' section of the Games pages as well, as this is where all of our F-Gen support is listed.
Best regards,
johntnovint
I have a falcon but haven't been using it lately due to lack of pistol grip. I guess I'll get one now though.
Has the Novint Falcon been discontinued? Several sources such as Wal-Mart, Newegg, and Cnet said that it has been discontinued, and only a limited number of units are available on the website. Why is this?
Using this for World of Warcraft will be odd. Since it gives feed back for Damage taken. I wouldn't want to get ganked while using it.
I really want one, but I feel like the price is too steep already. $150 still seems rather expensive.
Saving up my money to get a Novint Falcon, all my friends will be envious.
fuck a laptop, when I get my tax money im getting this if there is any (it usually is sold out by the time I have money for it)

Yes they are having a massive sale and John is providing tech support on this thread because they have no units left.
