Yes they are having a massive sale and John is providing tech support on this thread because they have no units left.
So is it permanently discontinued? Is the company closing down? You may not be able to answer these questions, but I am hoping that John will come back.
Just got a email back. I'm going to be buying one here in the upcoming week.

Hi GrassyBat,
The Falcon was never discontinued. The quantity remaining listed is just stating how many are in our current inventory. We are working hard to meet the current demand for the Falcon. We simply stopped selling it in retailers, and took over all distribution. We may move into retailers again soon, but I cannot comment further on that.
Best,

Before I was pissed because I didn't have a job so I couldn't pay for this. Now between school and working six days a week I don't have the time to use it. :suicide:

There is always time for gaming =D
I want one of these so badly. I just can't justify shelling out $160 for one of these things.
I would also like to get one of these, but I really won't have the money for one for a few months.
Would there by any chance of being able to get one at this price at another time?
I don't expect there would be, but that would be so awesome.

How much did you pay for your graphics card? And how much for, say, your monitor? And headphones/speakers? I'm not trying to convince you to make the purchase of course, but trying to bring things into perspective here. There are some headphones/speakers that hit 100 dollars, and graphics cards easily go for that and more if you're a gamer. The Falcon adds your sense of touch to gaming, so it is easily equal or greater than these offerings that provide your eyes and ears with entertainment, why leave out your hands? ;)

Again, can't guarantee this price will be available again this year, but e-mail Tom at tf2contest@novint.com, and we'll see what we can do =)
Hey guys, good to see the new falcon thread up and running and good to see you here John.
Anyone who has bought a falcon or has an interest, feel free to visit the official Novint Falcon Form, The Falcon Army. There you can find information, the latest developments and information on game support as well as drivers!
John, why are you and the company that you work in so awesome?
I've also got a falcon, add me to the list.
I love my falcon to bits, and it's the only reason I still play source games. Got an idea from the minecraft thread about adding falcon support to minecraft via a mod, it's going to be an interesting project :v:
Falcon support for Minecraft would be awesome.
Has anyone in the UK ordered one?
How long did it take to ship from the US?
Yeah I got one, it took about 2-3 weeks as far as I remember.
I'm interested in buying these but I've always wondered if it's actually as good as using a mouse. Wouldn't the recoil/realistic feeling simply make everything harder? Also, isn't it hard to turn because of the design? I know I really disliked FPS games on the Wii because of the way you turned (having to hold your cursor at the side of the screen and waiting to turn) and was imagining this to be somewhat similar.

As for recoil, I believe you can change settings to make it very light or even turn it off. And as far as turning, you can watch videos and see how fast some turns are made when people need to turn quickly.

In this video, both players are using a falcon. Notice that you can see the recording person quickly look up to fire a shot and then look back, and you can see him look behind him and turn back around.
Yet another question: Can you play games without fGen drivers if you want? I understand that there will be no recoil, but is it possible?
(Where is my automerge?)

Yup, this is one of the core features of F-Gen =)
John, why are you and the company that you work in so awesome?
Well, I'm very flattered with your comment =) Truth is, we love the Falcon and believe in it 150%, and we pride ourselves in customer service as much as we do in developing quality Falcon support in games. Force feedback on consoles provided proof as to how big of a deal your sense of touch is in gaming (There are many cases of people being upset if it isn't included. This was especially the case with the first PS3 controller, the six axis, which lacked a rumble feature). The PC is by far the most powerful platform, and it deserves the most powerful, realistic touch feedback you can find =D
Add me to the list
Cant find any vidoes of l4d2 or Call of Duty with the Falcon D:
John, when will the Novint Falcon 2 come out? I'm going to buy one in a few months, and I want to know if I should be saving my money or not.
Theres gonna be a falcon 2? Never knew that, any source on it?
Oh my god, please tell me I didnt buy this for another one to arrive D:
Well, logically there has to be a Falcon 2 full body suit that costs 30,000 dollars.
Oh you.
Thorny stop making these threads to get discou- oh wait you already have one :3:

There is no second revision planned for the Falcon in the near future.
