I did a "curse" idea today. Look at the post 2 posts before the one you replied to.
Kinda tried to fuse blessings along with your curses. Doing something against said deity's "rules" would cause a curse. For example, there may be a rule for going vegan, or another one for pacifism. Eat meat (including Rotten Flesh) and kill anything (including creepers), a curse is laid on you.

Also, perhaps the Altars could be crafted with the block and a specific item, such as Wood, a Bowl (for offerings), Black Wool and perhaps Horns (from a Goat, no less) yielding an Altar to the Black Goat of the Woods. Offerings given to the god, as well as doing things that they approve of, would increase their favour with you and unlock more boons for you buy with Experience. Doing things that go against their doctrine would decrease favour and increase the chance of them cursing you as penance. For example, the Black Goat's teachings would revolve around botany and the harvest, so planting Saplings would bring favour (using Bone Meal on the Saplings brings even more favour), as would bringing offerings of Wheat and/or Flowers to Her Altar, and getting enough Favour would allow you to invest your Experience in the Horned Might boon, which puts horns on your head (and likewise horns in your helmets) and allows you to damage and knock-back enemies by Sprinting into them (it acts like a permanent Potion Effect). Killing the animals of the land (passive mobs excluding the Squid), however, goes against Her doctrine and decreases favour, whilst slaying Goats is considered Sacrelige (the Goat is a sacred animal in Her doctrine), resulting in a Horned Moon the following night (even if you kill it at night, since the night could be about to end), whereby the Zombies grow horns and are basically more dangerous (breaking down doors, more health and damage, etc). If you survive the night, your Favour with the Black Goat is reset by default (She also calls you a coward for hiding in your house), but can still begin to regain Her favour with offerings and suchlike, though successfully gathering Demon Horns, which drop from the Horned Zombies, and offering them at the Altar means that you've proven your worth, which means you've proven your worth and you don't lose your Favour. However, Demon Horns are useful, but commiting the Sacrelige again too soon (7 days must pass before the trigger for the Horned Legion wears off) will result in a worse Horned Moon in which you get attacked by a Horned Legion of goat-like warrior demons, which are far worse and nearly impossible to kill on your own. It'd probably work, adding a different dimension of character development and interactivity in the game.
Adding a gamemode where the game starts off easily and will progressively turn so hard that you will need to have built yourself a self sufficient base that can stand on its own. So that makin runs outside is something that needs to be planned before hand. And when the hell is on earth it would be like the skies turn in to a red/orange hue and mobs previously injured by sunlight are now immune it and meanwhile the sunlight kills grass and trees slowly.
Minecraft needs something to make water travel more exciting, like crashing waves, requiring you to make a reenforced boat for better ocean travel. Oh, and hostile water mobs if being able to stand in your boat and attack smoothly without sliding off becomes possible. I don't like how it is now, it's basically "listen to something and press w in hope of reaching an island". It's boring.
Cooking endstone (Or brewing it with glass) makes a block that is visually transparent but lets no light through. Four glass in a crafting table make Clean glass, which has little or no spots in the middle. Four cobblestone in a crafting table makes Hardstone (or something like that) which is more like the old cobble stone, harder lines and a bit noisier.

Apply the same principle to Minecarts and you could make actual big trains, too! Also we need more sea monsters and maybe actual underwater ruins of some sort. Maybe dynamic water could be on the cards in later builds, too?
I wish the game generated dungeons that looked like the one in the 1.2 trailer. Surface dungeons/strongholds, and abandoned cities. Maybe even make abandoned mineshafts have paths to the surface, kinda silly how they are there with no way to get to them. I like the surface entrances especially if they are covered in rainforest like growth.
One thing that would be cool would be having more Golems. I'm thinking that Forest Golems would be what should be implemented next, made from 2 Wood (not Planks), 2 Leaf blocks, and of course the magical Pumpkin (build like you would an Iron Golem, only with the Wood being at the centre and the Leaves being on the side). They'd be a faster Golem than the lumbering Iron Golem, and could equip weaponry if you give it to them. I'd envision giving them a Bow and Arrows being a good stretegy, making them like a higher-tier Snow Golem (you require rather simple resources to make a Snow Golem) with damaging ranged attacks, since they'd be less suited for tanking compared to the mighty Iron Golem, and they'd be cheaper to make en-masse, too. So a good setup for a Golem Army would be a bunch of Forest Golems with Bows, backed up by a couple of Iron Golems.
Water needs a lot of things, right now all we have is squid and invisible fish. Wheres the giant 6-tentacled water boss that requires you to fight all tentacles and then hit its face or something?
Cthulhu as a boss.

Something like mokujin would be cool , looks creepy as fuck .
I have an idea, lets fix boats in multiplayer.
I have an idea, lets fix boats in multiplayer.
I have a better idea. Re-do multiplayer from scratch using UDP and proper lag prevention.
I have a better idea. Re-do multiplayer from scratch using UDP and proper lag prevention.
But that would require them to stop development on things like snowmen and blocks that can't be obtained in survival!
Different biomes drop different colored grass, like using silktouch on grass in a jungle would drop jungle grass and silktouch in a snow biome would drop that weird bluish grass, so you could have any color of grass you want if you wanted to. I think there was an earlier suggestion along similar lines.
Someone said Notch was considering kobolds and other generic fantasy enemies at some point. I think it would be neat if there were underground mobs that dug around, maybe digging into your base and looting your chests.
i thought you said notch was considering doors knobs and other fantasy amenities got excited
Someone said Notch was considering kobolds and other generic fantasy enemies at some point. I'm ok with the thought of kobolds in general, however. Having those rat-folk that live underground, gathering around fireplaces to compare the loot they acquired, would be a nice touch. Being able to interact with them would also be cool; you could choose to be friends with them instead of the surface-dwelling Testificates, choose a side in the weird and wonderful world of Minecraftia. Wouldn't object to a magic system either, though it should be somewhat unique and interesting to set it apart from mainstream spending of mana, but it should be neither too convoluted to use nor easy to spam.

Also, an enemy that presses random buttons and levers.

Just for your information, This is my friends Idea and im posting it here for him.
[LORE] Long before the evils of this world were introduced, the archon kept peace between the ancients and the humans. Then, one day, the Ancients of the Shade became impatient with the archon, and crafted dangerous tools that they presented to the human elders. The elders became drunk with power, and began to plan out the assassination of the archon. Finally, the humans carried out their plans, and killed the archon. Almost immediately after the archon was dead, the ancients attacked the humans, released countless evils, and destroyed their weapons. Now, as the last one left, you must remake these weapons, and end the ancients reign over the land you call home.
Needed : Coder(s) Requirements:
[*]Must be able to add new items and work with animated textures. [*]Must be able to code mobs that are afraid of you, but attack when they are attacked. [*]Must be able to add new, randomly generated biomes and structures. [*]Must have Skype/Mumble
Modeler(s) Requirements
[*]Must be able to provide blank texture templates along with the models [*]Must be able to model large mobs [*]Must be able to model very small mobs [*]Must have Skype/Mumble
*To apply PM Rectification and/or add ham_that_is_spice on Skype *Be prepared to provide examples of your previous work. EDIT : Things to be Added :
[*]Sand Spirits - Much like Blazes, Spawn in deserts (In Desert Tombs) [*]Sorcery/Magic - Craftable staves, (Will be discussing more) [*]Ancients - Shade, Sand, Obsidian (Will be discussing more) [*]Jungle Leeches - Leech hunger/health, Jump to shake off, (Will be discussing more) [*]Armor - Robes (Increase Magic), Leather (Increase Archery), Metal (Increase Melee) (Will be discussing more) [*]Adding more when we get a modeler/coder.
Actual first person models/animations for tools and weapons. More realistic liquids and the ability to fill buckets with any part of them, instead of just a source. There's also quite a few basic mods that should be added to the actual game.
Villagers should behave like pigmen. You attack one and they all attack you. [editline]12th March 2012[/editline] Arrows should smash windows, ice and penetrate leaves (Like 3 or so) Shields Playable instruments (Inspired by Ocarina of time) Weapon poisons (Crippling poison as well as weak DoTs, crafted from Spider parts) The ability to spend levels in things such as movement speed, health, health regen, quick draw (Pulling the bow faster), swipe, and so forth Option to remove names above the players head (Server side) [editline]12th March 2012[/editline]
Actual first person models/animations for tools and weapons. Having an FP-styled rating system in the Modding API would be a great thing; it'd help people judge mods depending on their kinds of rating.

Wait what? How do you reckon simple thumbs-up/down systems are in any way a good idea for feedback? They're stupid things that shouldn't even be forced upon the world's youth; a good rating system gives more specific feedback and means that people actually THINK about why the thing is as it is. The generic good/bad thing just voices a generic unintelligble opinion; WHY is the thing bad, WHY is the thing good? Be more specific damnit. Thumbs-up/down is lazy and encourages primitive behaviour in my view, which is why I disagree with that statement. Getting rid of generic up-down stuff will be beneficial for the human race in the long run, as will getting rid of many things that i'm not going to go into here since it'd go even more offtopic.
Would be fantastic if we could tag animals on birth, linking them to a player to fight against thieves and animal killers. Like real life.
can we not have some minecraft lore it is meant to be what the player wants it to be, to invent its own story and all that...
