GTA is the earliest sandboxy type game I can remember playing
First, it was Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX oh so long ago, and I was like: "I can go anywhere!"
Then, there was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I was like: "I can go anywhere! [i]In three dimensions!"[/i]
Next there was Assassin's Creed, and I was like: "I can go anywhere! [i]In three dimensions! [b]And kill things with actual blood!"[/b][/i]
And now there's Red Faction Guerrilla, and I am like : "I can go anywhere! [i]In three dimensions! [b]And kill things with actual blood! [u]And destroy EVERYTHING![/u][/b][/i]

its a cheap clone of gta basically, but it has some matrix style to it, i remember driving behind cars and shooting the tires to watch them flip and defy the laws of physics.

Driver2. I was amazed at how I could GET OUT OF THE FUCKING CAR unlike in Driver1, but I got tired of it for the fact that it had bugs, you couldn't do much at all tbh and you had a gun which you NEVER EVER got to shoot.
