i honestly didn't like half-life 2 at all. HL1 I'll let slide because it had so many innovations but HL2's theme was unacceptable. So many things could have been added to keep the depth and scale of the story. Obviously you're in a world where humans are the slaves and there's a new species at the top of the food chain but it doesn't feel that way, especially when you are walking around the train station/city in the beginning. Back in '04 it looked OK but looking OK is irrelevant when it isn't looking musky, tattered and/or outright filthy.
My biggest gripe is that the visual themes weren't what they should have been - everything was super plain. At least Valve are making the effort of adding far more detail in their maps.
boarderlands and, I didn't care much for Half life 2 either, Although Eps 1 and 2 where fun.
Mw2, all my friends adore that game but I thought it wasn't anywhere as good as Call of Duty 4.

Definitely Final Fantasy, i don't know why there is so much hype about this game, i never liked the others because of the stupid combat system (for those who don't know, it was like you and an ally versus 20+ enemies) and i just did not get the story.

You'll be even more let down to know that originally, they had a player weapon customization aspect for all the guns, and you could use different types of ammunition for different weapons (for instance, rifle rounds in a pistol, or magnum rounds for a shotgun), and they had huge distances of free roamable terrain and map space much like oblivions open world but larger.
