s and even in the ground (you should always have a shovel with you) There are actually 14 teleportation stones.
How the hell do you dig in this game anyway, tried for ages but to no avail
Downloaded the demo. It was fun, I guess, but altogether kinda boring. The combat was really clunky.
I've played through the half of the full game...it was pretty meh.
It's on GamersHell too. http://www.gamershell.com/download_51644.shtml I'll try it out.
Why have the Gothic developers not learned that if you don't have any character customization, you at LEAST need lots of diverse equipment.
I liked Gothic 1 and 2. Really tough games. Haven't really gotten in to Gothic 3 but it was fun when I played it. I'll probably get this one too.
Pretty mediocre. Lousy combat, lousy voice work, extremely muddy graphics and horrid use of bloom, okay crafting system, and retarded AI. So basically, it's about as good as the Gothic series. Man, we're never going to get a truly good open world RPG in the same vein as Oblivion(which wasn't that great either but atleast it was fun, if you avoided oblivion gates).
You are an idiot. Why do people need to compare every RPG with oblivion? Yes, it was a good game. Fine. There. But the voice acting and graphics are better then oblivion by far, the AI is much more complicated then Oblivions, and it actually USES bloom, unlike oblivion. Look at each game like it's its own masterpiece, and not as if it was some other game. If you want that other game so badly, go play it instead.
I personally liked the combat against humans a lot. Animals on the other hand were awful to fight against.
Save your money buy Dragon Age instead, it is going to be a next gen neverwinter nights (shy of multiplayer)
No multiplayer? NWN was good only BECAUSE of the multiplayer.
I've just started playing this game (full version.) but I really hate to wait the night off.. Is there any way to sleep it away / speed up time? I've just found a bed which I can sleep in. So nevermind.
Sums up the entire game p much.
Ugh, I fucking hated Gothic 3. The screenshots made it looks so awesome, but it really wasn't in my opinion. However, I'll try this when I get a chance.
It's more like Gothic 1 and 2 and those were the best RPGs I ever played. As for the fighting, it feels clunky as you don't have the skills yet. The next sword skills let you combine combos and do some pretty cool fightng moves.

My steam demo doesn't seem to be working can anyone help me, I double click it in steam it opens the risen-now loading, then closes and doesn't do anything, I can click it again then it just does the same.
You might have to install physx. http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.0814.html For some reason, the demo assumes you have it, and won't start if you don't have it even you don't let it use it. You don't actually have to have Physx on, you just have to have the driver installed. I've heard this has already been fixed in the full game thankfully.
