I downloaded LURK, but I can't seem to find my sleeping bag, is there a way to get one?
Just wondering, is it really worth getting LURK? It seems there's a lot of positive and a fair bit of bugginess.
Also, is it worth patching SHoC? Will it invalidate my current game and do the patches add anything significant?
Apparently what we got is a beta version, the release date of LURK is the 25th, still, even with these bugs it's really worth the download in my opinion.

HURR! I crash after it loads (new game).
EDIT: nevermind, figured it out.

I can wait a few days ^^ Quick question, are all the weapons in it those shiny ones shown in the gameplay trailers? I'm rather fond of the metallic MP5 or whatever from vanilla :P

you forgot to download the post mod fix and enter -noprefetch, just read the damn thread already.
I'm not that dumb, already I figured out what the problem was. Whatever, after half an hour of playing LURK I think I found out that it's not my cup of tea. The parallax mapping is horrible, looks too spiky, and people look like hobos. Also, I prefer the old hand model and the old weapons.
To be Honest, from what most of you said, LURK seems to be unstable
STALKERS fine for me as it is at the moment, I don't think I'll be Downloading LURK :S
I have steam version of STALKER shadow of chernobyl and Oblivion Lost installed. I have this weird problem that if I turn around really fast the view flips around in some weird ways.

I suggest starting small with mods.
Maybe try Oblivion Lost if you want a small mod that is mostly about improving Stalker.
Maybe Try SMP (Super Mod Pack) If you want alot of new stuff ingame.

Yeah, I heard a bit about Oblivion Lost :) What exactly does it do? Because I can't have anything to graphically taxing, my laptops a piece of shit hehe

Well it isn't graphically taxing or anything
Basically it adds features that were cut from stalker.
AI is truly Dynamic, the military may raid the rookie camp, or they may not, that is random.
Sometimes random events happen, maybe the bandits will go apeshit at the trainwreck military checkpoint in cordon.
Some new weapons are added (M3 Sawnoff, Hunting Rifle, AK47, some other guns).
I think the translation was a bit improved.
There is just a big list of changes but basically, it adds alot of cool features and I think sleeping too. Forgot if that was in.

Oblivion Lost is NOT a small mod and definitely doesn't distinctly improve STALKER. OL is more or less a total conversion that adds tons of new stuff and tweaks everything tweak-able, mostly for the better, sometimes for the worst. I liked OL but it it made the game so intense (with new NPC's, weapons, mutants, features) that it didn't feel like STALKER anymore.
OL doesn't change the graphics much but all the new stuff makes the game slower to run at times.
STALKER Complete 2009 is kindof the opposite; It completely revamps the graphics, mostly through high-res textures, materials and particles as well as some stand-alone visual mods, which makes the game really look as good as or better than CS, but doesn't change the gameplay much aside from some additional features (repair, sleeping bag, nade-throwing NPCs).

It's a small mod at about 180 or so MB in RAR.
2009 for the most point is just a visual graphic mod.
OL is not an Total conversion mod, it simply adds alot of features
(Something like Priboi Story would be a conversion, while CS is a TOTAL Conversion mod for HL)

I'm Downloading it now, it looks to be pretty good, and yeah, sleeping is included, 30 hours then you might want to take a nap ^^
Thanks for the summary though :)
you must play it on Hell though, sure you dont HAVE to but it's for real men.
It's also a chock harder.
That sounds nasty though :( I played on Stalker difficulty on vanilla, is it the same as that?
That sounds nasty though :( I played on Stalker difficulty on vanilla, is it the same as that?
No, OL is quite frankly a LOT harder than that. Mostly because there will be mutants everywhere at once :ohdear:

Oh...So, will the Dynamic AI thingy mean taht as soon as I leave the trader to start there'll be a bloodsucker outside?
Oh...So, will the Dynamic AI thingy mean taht as soon as I leave the trader to start there'll be a bloodsucker outside?
Nope, after a blowout there might be, but that's rare
Nope, after a blowout there might be, but that's rare
......A whatnow? I didn't get that far into vanilla, only reached the garbage and met that mole guy, went underground, found Streloks place, attacked by a bloodsucker thing, shat my pants. Moved on, controller. Moved on. Quit.
EDIT: Right, I'm trying to edit the line in fsgame.ltx to make them both say true, but it's not letting me save? Says the path and filename are incorrect? Anyone else have this? I'm using notepad.
I have steam version of STALKER shadow of chernobyl and Oblivion Lost installed. I have this weird problem that if I turn around really fast the view flips around in some weird ways.
That only happens to me if I fire the sawn-off.
Killed the bloodsucker. Unloaded about two clips into it with the AK at point blank range. Also, I can't attach the PS01-Tactical Scope to the SVD despite it saying the two go together. :(
I bought a silencer and it's useless.
I think the guide to lead me to cordon is dead in Clear Sky. Fuck. A bunch of STALKERs showed up after I'd cleared out the last couple of renegades, as I wasn't there for the initial attack, but I think it's glitched.
Will I have to start again I wonder. :saddowns:
Edit:
If I can't fix this I'm going to go back to SoC.

I have the same problem. :saddowns:
To be Honest, from what most of you said, LURK seems to be unstable
Stable for me after the patch to fix the damn crash when saving Nimble and then trying to talk to Sidorivitch.
I have the same problem. :saddowns:
Same :frown:
Why is LURK so much bigger than the other mods?
[editline]04:03PM[/editline]
Looking through the files, textures seem to be the largest folder. I'll press further.
[editline]04:05PM[/editline]
Weapons and Sky textures appear to be the biggest.
Here's the HUD if anyone wants to see it. Media'd because it's 1440x900.
This reminds me of something. Does anyone know how to add back in the pictures for the ammo your using, while taking out the thing that says (7/8 bullets) I want a complete lack of hud, besides the health bar, and what ammo I'm currently using.
If there's a mod I can dl, or a code i can delete, that would be helpful.
Oblivion Lost dosn't seem to want to work for me :( Damn file paths and names and stuff like that:@
Any help guys?
