Has anyone with Call of Pripyat gotten it working on Windows 7?
Holden and I have come up with something that we think hasn't been done before. The sleeping bag is too advantageous for the player, but removing sleeping completely would make nights long and annoying.
So then we thought of a realistic and balanced solution. Traders. Traders can offer you a bed and depending on the time you sleep will charge you for it. I have already laid the framework for it but I still need to put in some of the functions for checking the money.
Why is the sleeping bag an advantage? Just disable it from being used in the underground. Sometimes I like to go exploring days at a time and like to setup camp in the forest whenever possible. Running back to a trader would be a hassle.

Well I'm sure we could allow important NPC's the option also.

It's an advantage in that it allows the player to heal up and wait for whatever time (usually when it's bright and clear) with no cost to the player. It makes it too easy. I might however enable a buyable sleeping bag that maybe degrades after use. Holden didn't really like that, though.

Shitty idea, excuse me. I now think it would be better to lower the health gaining aspect and amount of time you're able to sleep for at one time on the buyable sleeping bag.
I am really looking forward to CoP. I think the two first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games may be my favorite games of all time. Although, I'll admit, I think I cheated a bit at the end of Clear Sky. [sp]Instead of chasing him all around the plant through the portals, I somehow found a spot where I could just shoot him from, since he wasn't moving. Kind of anti-climactic.[/sp]
Increase the enemy detection radius on it? I would honestly find it too frustrating if I was out in the middle of nowhere at 1am and had to walk back to a trader essentially blind folded. With my mods my nights have little to no visibility, my flashlight gives me about 10 feet.
How about a chance of being mugged? Like a 1% chance for every hour slept?
Artifact - 0.5% +0.5% every hour (0.2% for more rare artifacts)
Money - 1% +1% every hour (-2000RU per hour)
Weapons - 5% +1% every hour (based on price of gun, -1% per 1000RU)
Medications - 5% +1% every hour
Ammunition - 10% +2% every hour (5 bullets per hour)
Food - 15% +2% every hour
For the sleeping bag crisis I propose a new idea.
You pay to use your sleeping bag, if you can't well too bad. It's possible to have a mechanism that accepts rubles and doing so with the specific amount needed would unlock it. Then the stalker can roll it out and comfortably sleep on it.

If you were sleepy, maybe you could just drop down on the ground and you'd have lost health upon waking up. I'm not sure. Were still working through this. We'll try our best to find the best balance between realism and fun.
Mugging is a neat idea, but that'd be no fun to lose all your shit.

Not everything, read my edit. Make it some sort of table with values depending on the price of the gear and amount of time slept.

If only STALKER had a singleplayer map editor or something. You could add places to sleep. Maybe something like a bed you can rent at the Bar or other places.
Also to wake you up so you won't oversleep it stabs you, thus you lose 10% of your health.

But that doesn't make much sense, paying to use something I own.

Sidorivitch owns it. If you don't give it back a pack of snorks saying "Get out of here stalker" will kill you. You don't have much of a choice.
This is seriously not a joke, I will script this myself if it comes to it.
Over at the GSC forums we've managed to replicate that feature from CS that changes your arms texture when you change suit in ShoC.
Still in early steps though. But it's working.

Also this.
We're working on it, many sidequests are currently broken.
I've taken some comparison shots between L.U.R.K. and the latest Complete 2009 1.4. You'll see how far we've come:

Just wondering, is their an alternative, single link download for LURK? I don't want to download it from megaupload.

Goddamnit I really want CoP. Stupid delays, how long can it take to translate/record shit?

Fixing bugs, optimizing, recording, translating, tweaking, etc.

I think that if you run under them then they hurt you. It's an anomaly called burnt moss or something.

Red Forest in LURK is annoying me.
I don't have that much ammo/medkits left, I have a pistol and a sniper rifle (OTs-33 something and the IMI Galil sniper rifle), I keep dying to the soldiers, dogs keep coming out of nowhere, and there's radiation everywhere.
I wish stalker had full body.
It's so depressing to look down and see nothing

It's just radiated shit hanging from the ceiling.
