Gotta love the guy who thinks a chart showing FPS means anything.
Playing with a 9800GT, Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.8 dual core), and 4GB of RAM and I can run Clear Sky maxed out 50fps (on Dx10) nearly always constant. Them saying a 9800gt gets 14.5fps average is just full of lies.
If I had CoP I would post my performance on that, but alas I'm in the US and don't have it. By the way, STALKERs graphics are just fine, in my opinion some of the best.
Yeah, every single benchmark on the web was created by liers, i've got a high end system and I get around the same FPS the benchmarks show aswell, even with newly formatted Windows 7. :downs: But feel free to post proof, oh and don't go lowering settings thinking I won't notice because I own both games and I can just run mine on max and compare them to yours, i'll also display my FPS with them, i'm running a 4890, Q9550 3.4Ghz and 8GB RAM and the average FPS I get outside of the Clear Sky camp doesn't go near 50 and that was tested with a cleanly formatted Windows 7 with the latest beta drivers from ATI's site. :)
Sick of idiots like you who make up FPS in your head and think you are really getting it, when every single benchmark on the net shows that your card doesn't get anywhere near it.
I dunno, but other than jellyfish and stone flowers, I've found multiple stone blood, gravi, wrenched, thorns, meat chunks, fireballs, droplets, an urchin, a pellicile, a battery, crystals, and even a night star. I haven't even reached the Red Forest yet, since I got the game-breaking performance issues in the Army Warehouses (I would play LURK more, but seriously, game-halting performance in that area)
I'd tell you to re-enable prefetching so all the loading that happens in the Warehouses happens behind the scenes, but you're using LURK, right? Gotta have that -noprefetch. It's killing me too, getting really low framerates in Rostok and the Warehouses.

I didn't enable it at first and it seemed to run fine for me. What happened to other people who didn't enable it.
Why do you have to enable noprefetch with LURK, anyways?
Why do you have to enable noprefetch with LURK, anyways?
You don't have to, but it's suggested that you do because it makes it load faster.
No need to be a presumptuous dick.
The thing I'm probably doing wrong is taking a mission before I've even gotten anywhere. All I have is a pistol and leather clothing and I took a mission where I have to rescue some guy whose name I forget by shooting a bunch of guys with a bunch of other guys. My guys always die, shortly followed by me due to being outnumbered.
Think I should explore and find better equipment first?
Get the merc suit, either sell it to Sid for weapons, or use it.

It won't work for me. Even after refreshing a lot it just says "An error occurred, please try again later".

Rated informative.
Well once we get all the bugs, we can start work on optimization, but that might be a while.
I find it annoying that all the unique/good suits normally hidden in stashes and whatnot are replaced with leather jackets.
I don't think it's too bad, before I left Cordon I had gathered enough supplies to sell and buy a Stalker Suit from Sid. Just work your way around the place, kill the military at the base (use stealth, it works amazingly when infiltrating that base), and sell the guns you don't want to use.

I've noticed one small bug with the mosin nagant. If you fire, but don't lower the weapon(you keep holding right mouse button), you can see in your hand and part of the gun for a second or so. Other than that, it's fine. I'll get a picture if I can.
Apparently, the fact that I have a digital copy means I can't install the 1.0005 patch.

I think you mean the 1.006 patch, I have the steam version and it is nicely patched up to 1.005.
I just went to the bloodsucker village. All was going well, I killed 2 of them already and everything seemed normal. I cautiously approached the granary/tower/whatever when suddenly, the game froze for a few seconds. When it unfroze, a fucking hoard of bloodsuckers comes pouring out and rapes me to death within seconds.
:v:
I tried reloading a save but it doesn't seem to be happening again.

Nope, I mean the 1.0005 patch. I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. off of D2D's five dollar sale.
That bloodsucker village scared me half to death the first time I went into it, mainly because I didn't expect half of the bloodsuckers. (Not like anything expected DOESN'T make me jump in STALKER)

There is a hole at the far end of the fence where the dead scientist are.
Will that arm skin system be compatible with most mods?
Here's how it works:
There's a bunch of HUD weapon meshes for each weapon (wpn_ak74_hud_stalker or wpn_ak74_hud_merc for example) that the game switches between when you put on the corresponding suit.
That makes it about 8 or 10 hud meshes for each weapon, which may seem unessecary, but the players arms are intergrated with all weapons and are not seperate, so you can't do it like in Clear Sky.
It will be compatible with most mods, but will require lots of merging work, especially if you add new suits or new weapons.

You're kidding right? You mean I spent 2 hours hiding inside that building, killing soldiers to get that suit for 24000 and it was right above me? :@
Also, how do I repair armour? And is there a faster mode of transport?
"Chernobyl-2"
The “Chernobyl-2”, a.k.a. “Duga-3”, is a former Soviet military installation relatively close by to the power plant, consisting of gigantic transmitter and receiver belonging to the Steel Yard Over-the-horizon radar system.[3] The secrecy around this unit once provoked a rumour that it was the real cause of the disaster. According to Ukrainian TV, the base is now defunct and handed over to the Ministry of Emergencies. The rusting iron superstructures of the station are being considered for dismantling over the fears of their accidental collapse which would cause a microearthquake damaging the radioactive storages in the area.
The facility also includes a large underground bunker with several levels below ground designed to withstand a nuclear strike. It is capable of providing autonomous energy and food supply for at least 10 years.

Too bad, when people actually get those speeds. I proved that I can run CS all max 1280x1024 with 30-50 fps (go dig it up if you like, but I'm not gonna do it. It's in the old S.T.A.L.K.E.R. megathread).
That aside, how's Pripyat in CoP? I still haven't seen it in Shadow of Chernobyl :(
Does CoP still have weapon upgrading?

People don't get shit, an 8800GT doesn't run CS maxed out with playable frame rates, unless you're playing in 800x600.
