WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?! [These are flags from ETW by the way]
Wait, Norway is playable?
Wait, Norway is playable?
No, those are just the flags of in-game factions, not playable factions, only some of them are playable (sadly).
And then there are people for strange reasons think that Steam wastes system resources and their computer doesn't have internet access.
Offline mode :D if you can't manage to use it. Get away from the rock.
Wait, Norway is playable?
I fucking hope so.
Wait, Norway is playable?
Well, before sweden raped our ass. But we killed their king, ahahhahaahahha.
Don't the modders usually patch this in?
Yeah, I'd expect that most of the factions will be unlocked by mods after the first week.
Yeah, I'd expect that most of the factions will be unlocked by mods after the first week.
Possibly sooner. I just wonder how much variety of units we will get. Considering that there are so little types of musket infantry, probably a shit load of musket technologies to compensate for this.
A few more days till we can pre-load the game. :)
If it is anything like the other games, all factions will be modded in by the first day, maybe even hour. It was a very simple procedure, just change a few lines in a text file.

The British flag is the White flag crossed with red stripes. That American Flag with the crown could be if the British succeed in preventing the revolution or it could be the loyalist flag.
The British flag is the White flag crossed with red stripes.
No, that's the flag of Burgundy. EDIT: Nevermind, I thought you meant another flag. There are many red stripes over white flags.
Managed to change the battle of brandywine to Ireland vs. England, only problem is a lot of Irish soldiers don't have textures
A few more days till we can pre-load the game. :)
fuck yeah! I can't wait to play
Alright, infantry battles are infuriatingly hard. I just had my troops stomped on because I couldn't flank the enemy. I tried to use my cavalry to open up a flank for some troops to come in through but they got torn to shit by line riflemen. I was hyped up about this, but not so much now. I'll re-try the demo tomorrow and see what happens.
They chose a pretty difficult battle for the demo, but you should still give it another shot. Remember to pause a lot and keep an eye over the entire enemy army.
What are you talking about. The battle is easy as pie. I managed to totally destroy the American army by slow marching my entire army up their left flank. Just before I enter their firing range, I charge horsemen in to distract their fire. Giving me time to form up and kill the artillery gunners. Then, it's just a matter of marching in formation to the town and surrounding the garrison there.

Would've been cooler if it was two equal armies facing off against even terrain.
I can't win the sea battle, they keep on surrounding me

That's the same as telling someone who dislikes football and doesn't play it that they can't dislike it because they aren't good at it. Re-ran the scenario in about twenty minutes, got a close victory; It feels a bit more like a M:TW mod than a completed product, although it is a prerelease demo.
Holy shit, rank fire is fucking epic. First rank fires and kneels, second rank fire and kneels then third rank fires and it starts all over again. I wish it could go on and on, it seems to just stop at the 3rd rank. Edit:
I've been playing the Total War series for a long time now. Empire: Total War feels nothing like a mod! I would very much like to see you mod Medieval 2 up to ETW standards and have you forgotten about naval combat? Also yes, Creative Assembly know the demo has problems and have said that most of it has already been fixed in the full game. Edit: Anyway, that's besides the point, can't wait to see what changes have been made to the campaign map and multiplayer. Plus, the new technologies will be fucking awesome. I spotted this, "fougasse", I'm wondering how mines will come into play on the battlefield.

I lost my first battle.
Plus, the new technologies will be fucking awesome. Oh yeah, forgot about the weather. D: Prepare for total musket fail in the rain.

For example the american one with the crown would be if your faction turns into a monarchy, and the original one would be if you chose for it to stay as the republic.

Did any one else get very long load times in the demo?
Everybody did.
Atleast i did and with the *Cam doom* "N" button the frame rate dropped like hell.
Did any one else get very long load times in the demo?
Do you know those guys at that total war forums managed to shorten the time for the loading?
