What are you talking about. The battle is easy as pie. I managed to totally destroy the American army by slow marching my entire army up their left flank. Just before I enter their firing range, I charge horsemen in to distract their fire. Giving me time to form up and kill the artillery gunners. Then, it's just a matter of marching in formation to the town and surrounding the garrison there.
I managed to win the ground battle by simply rushing my infrantry to the right. Ignored the cannons. After most of the enemy infantry was routed I sent my cavarly rushing at the cannons and destroyed them.
Do you know those guys at that total war forums managed to shorten the time for the loading?
Oh really?
The British flag is the White flag crossed with red stripes.
No it's not. That's the English flag - there's a difference.
Oh really?
Yesh.
Yesh.
Link, please?
It's too complicated, I tried it and it fucked up the UI, I couldn't select units.

IGN's review of Empire: Total War. They gave it a respectable 9.5. I suggest you read the entire review thoroughly. Only then should you watch the review for some epic footage of what I think to be howitzer explosions or some sort of weird explosions sending chunks of burning flames into the sky. Fucking Thanks Angelangel! These pics are Great, now i might buy this (Even without the pics i would buy it).
Fucking Thanks Angelangel! These pics are Great, now i might buy this (Even without the pics i would buy it).
I'm split between buying it online or buying the collector's/limited/special edition at the shops.
I'm split between buying it online or buying the collector's/limited/special edition at the shops.
Unless it costs less online, or you don't have a shop nearby, I'd buy special at the shop, I like having the box and there is no download time. Edit: And that special edition looks sexy.
Why are people saying it's hard? I haven't lost a single battle in the demo. I started off by moving all my units (excluding the artillery) to the left-ward flank, but not past the shallow river. Then I moved in 3 units to take out the 1-2 riflemen squads lingering around that area. Then I moved all my riflemen/grenadiers over the shallow river, and lined them up across the wooded area, and the right path (the enemy seems to ignore the left path). I then wait for any enemy units to come, and I gradually move my line of gunmen forward, bit by bit. I move my cavalry/general into a safe position behind the gunners. When I reach the large, round space at the end of the path, I try and position my gunners into a circle, lining the outside of the space. I then move some of my units who are closer to the enemy in. This draws their fire, and then I move in my entire force, including cavalry. If any units go into a building, I order my grenadiers to take them out, and reposition my artillery. From then on it's plain sailing, the only enemy units left should be a couple of riflemen squads, and their artillery.
I'm split between buying it online or buying the collector's/limited/special edition at the shops.
Buy the retail version if there is a shop close-by atleast i will buy the collectors edition.
Link, please?
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=227956 Here.
Buy the retail version if there is a shop close-by atleast i will buy the collectors edition.
Yeah but I'm not sure they will have enough, or have any in the first place. I guess I will be finding out on 4th March, the day it comes out in Singapore.
What the fuck?! In those pictures it seems like there are barely any cities!
What the fuck?! In those pictures it seems like there are barely any cities!
Go read the review on IGN.com. "Each territory is dominated by a single regional capital that you can upgrade with better barracks, theaters or government houses, but there are also a number of outlying resources you'll need to develop as well. You might have a province that contains a farm, or an iron mine, or a port, and you'll need to spend money to develop these in specific ways. One port might be focused on fishing, for instance, while another could focus on trade or shipbuilding. As a region develops, new towns will spring up nearby and they can be upgraded with tech-researching colleges. So each region will have a number of smaller towns and farms within it that can be targeted by your enemies. "
Holy crap, <i saw a video of a ship burning down, looks awesome.

There's no chance at all that I won't. One thing that's always nagged me about the TW games: When you are trying to create formations with your units, and have one unit selected to try to create, say, an infantry line, you can't see where your other units will be moving too. This definitely hurts me, as I'm a "pause and make commands, then watch them unfold" type of player.
It looks good!

Tip of the day ^.

However, when I manually selected them through dragging a box around them, the line-dragging worked fine.
Competition to win a PC at www.game.net related to Empire. I think the first thing i will do is do a custom battle and charge elephants into cannons :D
Also, am I the only one that's really hoping that the Americans can sail across the Atlantic to make claims in Europe? (Or just revenge, basically.)
Also, am I the only one that's really hoping that the Americans can sail across the Atlantic to make claims in Europe? (Or just revenge, basically.)
I am going to conquer england as America.
I am going to conquer england as America.
I'm going to make it a personal goal to persuade an eastern faction to quash the American revolution. I think it would be appropriately ironic to see the Mughal 'intervene' in the United States and try to police their 'insurgency.' See what I did there? The game is looking good. Let's hope it runs better than the demo.
Well I hope that's possible. And with the government changes, i'm reasonably hoping for an American monarchy ruling over Europe.
Also, I love the first person view ingame.
