Oh damn, didn't know it was called that.
The German name is Preußen.
Germany didn't exist in that time period.
That's why I said German nation.
It's coming out in Singapore on the 4th, why the delay over in Canada?
Shouldn't you be able to play Empires if you can run Medieval 2?
I dunno, that's what the Future Shop and the Canadian Best Buy say.
But then, they did the same thing with Battlefield 2 four years ago.
Oh damn, didn't know it was called that.

Don't you think Preußen sounds a bit like Prussia?
Yea well it sounds more like russia.
Too bad it sounds like russia, it's Prussia.
Shouldn't you be able to play Empires if you can run Medieval 2?
I heard that i couldn't...
Not that I'm complaining if I can that is :P
I could perfectly run Medieval 2. But I can barely run Empire :/
No, you shouldn't. It is a completely new engine and much more advanced graphics, no way at all related to Medieval 2.
Yea well it sounds more like russia.
You, know, Preussen (Preußen) and Prussia?
While you could unit Germany into one country, ETW should have the country-changing post-events such as those in HoI or EU, like turning the country that took control of all the other German states into Germany.
If I buy this on retail, I could just activate the product on steam yes?
Yep, you have to.
Ahh...
The German states united under one name we're entitled "Prussia."
And Russia, for the most part, was called "Rus."
Damn Americans, don't know anything about mankind.

A bunch of british people in the UK made this game, not Americans.

I doubt they called it Germany.
I'm just aiming toward that one crazy American who thinks Prussia is Russia.
I can't wait to buy this game.
I really hope it's as good as the rest!
Fuck yes. I can't wait to have an excuse to say "La Garde meurt, elle ne se rend pas!"

Russia during the game's time frame was called the Russian Empire for the most part, you are thinking of the Tsardom of Rus' even at which point most people called it Russia. The Tsardom no longer existed shortly after the game begins. The only time in which the people were called Rus, when Kievan Rus' was still around, is almost thousand years before Empire Total War even begins.
Please do not continue insulting American intelligence.
Oh and by the way, we're is a contraction. You are looking for "were."

This game looks like an awesome RTS, I might buy it.
I'm going to make it a personal goal to persuade an eastern faction to quash the American revolution.
I think it would be appropriately ironic to see the Mughal 'intervene' in the United States and try to police their 'insurgency.'
See what I did there?
The game is looking good. Let's hope it runs better than the demo.
No the Mughals were in India at the time, more appropriate for the irony you seek would be if the Ottomans did that because they occupied the areas that later become Iraq and Iran and stuff.

Haha. GJ
British players have a perfectly sound reason why they would want to colonise America and keep it British in Empire: Total War. We send you to the Americas to colonise it, you rebel against us because the King's protection and governance is simply too good for you. You sit around doing fuck all and subsequently are unable to pay for His Majesty's taxation.
Thus, if you, as an American, want to take over Canada or Europe for 'revenge', you are mentally insane.
I wonder if the campaign has a "culture ID" for each province. It would make for some great rebellions and revolts.

You know the reason for the revolution were the insane taxes and the way the Britains treated the clolonists, right?

Well I just wasn't realizing it is Preußen. More accurate would of couse be "Holy Roman Empire of German Nation" but hey, whatever.
2 days until release and no dumb kids screaming "I have it already".
Steam is awesome.

yeah no deboxing pictures with suspicious pastel liquids on the box
You know the reason for the revolution were the insane taxes and the way the Britains treated the clolonists, right?
It was because the Empire was in debt. And the reason it was in debt was because it just fought a bloody expensive war trying to protect the colonies from France and it's Indian allies.
And the colonies actually profited from the war and had accumlated a large amount of wealth, including via trading directly with the french invaders. The average british colonianst was far richer than the average guy living in Britain.
The entire revolution was a selfish orchestration created by the plutocratic coloniest elite to use the guilible to fight and die to protect their wealth and status quo, against a tiny British untrained garrison while the fledgling empire was fighting for it's life in centeral europe against the worlds military superpower.
That's one view point anyway. There is a supprising amount of mythology behind the whole revolution, it's actually hard to discearn what actually happened. =D
Well in the end it's about the money. Like in every war.

Back in line, rebel scum! The lot of you will be hanged at dawn, this will teach your militia friends a lesson.
/Evil British colonel
(I am readying myself for the "Road to Independence" campaign. For this, I have chosen the role of an evil British colonel who leads fearless men to meet the enemy head on. Then, for the final stages of the campaign. Where the player controls the continental army, I will suddenly change my mindset and imagine my family being hanged by the British.)
Role-playing is fun.
