Aw fuck, when i am at around 299 MB left, it tells me to restart steam.
Try at the tech support forums over at Totalwar.com, they should know how to fix it. Or maybe it's a Steam problem, then try in their support forums. Edit: Try this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=9304934&postcount=10 (1) In your Steam folder, locate Steam.exe (2) Right click on Steam.exe and select "create shortcut" (3) Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties" (4) Where it says "Target," add -install d: (change d: to the drive letter of your cd/dvd drive) (5) Click "OK" (6) Double click on the shortcut and it should begin the install process for the game. If this does not work, ask on the Steam forums or E-mail Valve, because then I got no idea.
So is this game good? Am considering to buy this tomorrow (In sweden).
It is one of the best RTS games I have played....if you manage to get it installed. I would wait a week for a patch to come out and then buy it, a great game though imo.
This game is huge. If you want to know how to install steam games in another directory on a separate partition, see this post: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=664376
Requirements 1. Windows NT (again, WinXP, WinVista and so on ARE WinNT) 2. NTFS-formatted drives (if you still have FAT(32)-formatted partitions, you can use the convert-command to convert your partitions to NTFS, at the cost of readability in Win98/Linux). 3. Some spare time Execution 1. If you're not using Windows Vista, you'll have to get linkd.exe from the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools. If you're using Windows Vista, you already have a command called mklink which does the job. I'm going to use linkd-syntax in this tutorial, mklink has almost the same syntax. You only have to add the /j-parameter (junction, remember?) You can access help for both tools with the [tool name] /?-command. 2. Take a look at your folder structure. Where do you want to move the games from and to? In this example, I'll use C:\Steam as the Steam installation directory on a full partition and D:\SteamSpare as the swap space. 3. Open your console. Press Win+R, type cmd and press enter. 4. Let's move a third party game first. Copy the content of C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Red Orchestra to D:\SteamSpare\Red Orchestra. You have to copy the files because they will be deleted on the original location. 5. Type linkd "C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Red Orchestra" "D:\SteamSpare\Red Orchestra" in the console. 6. You're done. Red Orchestra files will take space on D: but will be still avaible to Steam in C:\Steam. 7. Moving Valve games is more complicated. linkd can only "mirror" folders. Valve games have their data inside GCF-files. So you can only "mirror" the whole SteamApps-folder or use mklink (Vista only, not tested) to move single files.
I'm extremely surprised at the sheer amount positive reception it has. And I agree with it all. By far the best Total War game so far.
Yay! mine just arrived! Installing now!
Damn, got some memory leak in my only save of road to freedom.
What I really dislike is the absence of cinematic events, like assassinations. They added some depth to the game.

Im playing as Sweden (I'm Norwegian though :( ) And fucking Denmark-Norway is fucking impossible to take now that Russia and another country is ally with it. I want to take Norway back!
Why do you have it in german?
Maybe he's German?
Maybe he's German?
Why can't he have it in English? This is actually the reason Germany has a pretty damn bad english education. they sub and dub everything.
Why can't he have it in English? This is actually the reason Germany has a pretty damn bad english education. they sub and dub everything.
Are you serious?
Someone post more pictures! it's gonna take ages to finish downloading
Why can't he have it in English? This is actually the reason Germany has a pretty damn bad english education. they sub and dub everything.
Is it possible for you to make one post without being a trolling douchebag?
Sounds like you guys really like this game, I might buy this then cuz am pretty rish now :3
Still skeptical of whether to buy this or not. I was pretty excited to buy it but then I realized what the game really was...All I could picture was the same taking over a country one at a time with units fighting across a field over and over again. Then doing it all over again to keep the game going. Yes, there are small things like an economy and relations and such, but that's just small time things. I know it will be really good and fun but I've been too disappointed with nearly every game I've bought in the last year to keep any hope up.
Why can't he have it in English? But judging from your post your either A) a Troll, or B) a 12 year old and all that just went completely over your head. Now, back on topic, I REALLY hope somone mods in the Irish as a playable faction, the factions already there, just not playable yet, They have Russia, so my other favorite country is there, now I just need Ireland!
Got this game, waiting for it to download. Is that Keri Sable? HOT
you know it
What I really dislike is the absence of cinematic events, like assassinations. They added some depth to the game.
In like the very first video they released (the motion capture one), there was cutscenes of duels and shit- are there no cutscenes in the game?
Is it possible for you to make one post without being a trolling douchebag?
I'm not trolling though.
Is it possible for you to make one post without being a trolling douchebag?
don't count on it... and he should know that native language is prefered when possible. english is not da shit. and german is better for star trek... no i'm not a nerd. and i'm danish, we dont have german or english as native language. og dansk er det bedste sprog at bande og skrige på. og det er sproget for vikinger. oh and another + of being dane... i can understand all of the Beowulf Movie they speak old danish? or nordic and it's really easy to get just other synonyms and older grammer. back on topic, Is this the best total war yet guys? i'm really curious wether i should stay with rome since medieval 2 was kinda meh...
Got the game, played a bit of multiplayer, realised im going to have to get a real damn good understanding of everything about the units to even concider beating any good players. Haven't really tried the grand campaign, but on my way through the road to independance campaign. Damn french won't leave my poor george alone :(
