Road to independence seems a bit bugged at some points. This one fort had a bug where all units moving in a certain area only moved like 0.0001 miles an hour while the game thinking they are running causing them to be very tired for moving an inch. And after you defeat the french as british, it all goes to hell. American revolution is so god damn hard. I had my first loss today. The leaning curve goes from easy as hell with the french to fucking ultimate vsing the british.
Jesus I hated that slow shit.
Hmm, I tried playing with 2.5 modifier on units (400 units each "squad" of line infantry) and it runs surprisingly smooth, since they become 2D when I'm at a distance, it doesn't lower my fps at all. When I zoom in and they become 3D on the other hand... Also, I don't want to ruin for anybody, but if it isn't crashing at the beggining it will when you progress in the grand campaing. Mine worked fine too until year 1760, now it crashes every time I declare war, so it's just a delay of the inevitable, sadly.
Empire runs excellent on my computer! No crashes, no errors. Edit: This game is fucking amazing, one of the best rts game I have ever played!

I'm going back to Rome Total War, wake me up when ETW gets fixed Hell, one song in particular makes me want to play it again, plus battles are much more epic.

Am in 1731 and have only taken over east Europe with Swedish empire. Am really slow to conquer lands, but am rish as hell ( am getting around 50k gold every round D:).

Just offer them 150k and they'll sell you most of the territories (150k for each ofcourse).
I haven't had any bugs yet.
Why conquer when you can buy? Just offer them 150k and they'll sell you most of the territories (150k for each ofcourse).
I tried some times to buy countries. But they just diagree when I try to do deals.. Btw how mush troops/army can I make in the camping? is it infinite or what? (So long I got money ofc)
Why conquer when you can buy? So the <150K you spent on building it can conquer masses and masses of territory at very little cost (presuming you don't often lose half your army)
Goddamnit. Something keeps popping the fuse upstairs where my computer is. Started last night, I was reading a book when the lights went off. I thought it was just a broken lightbulb but the horrible truth became clear this morning. Can't play ETW until the electrician arrives to fix my shit.

So, without giving a natural "YES," can someone tell me if it's worth buying this game at this point in time? I've been told by a lot of people that it's great, but I'm not sure about the replayability, and I just recently bought a game for 50 bucks (I try only to buy every other month...gaming can be an expensive habit).

Multiplayer is always interesting, sometimes challenging, sometimes just pwning. The game has some bugs for sure, but Medieval 2 had too and it's still awesome.
Also next patch is scheduled for today.
Also next patch is scheduled for today.
I just got a pm from one of the tech admins from the total war forums asking for my save file, if I could upload it to their ftp. They're asking a lot of people with the same problem's as me so they can figure shit out for the next patch. Hope I'm not too late then! I want my save working! :D

But conquering is much more fun. But is it just me or are we etting way too much money in this game? I rememebr the other ones, just reaching 30.000 was a lot, let alone gaining 30.000 a turn (atleast it was like that for me).

The one thing that Steam naysayers will be thankful for is the speed of updates. Developers don't have to wait a few months to get a patch together and can just release fixes as they go along.
What exactly is a turn? Is this TBC or RTS? I thought it was an RTS.
6 months.
Also if your install fucks around halfway through, you can just start the install again and because it's on steam it'll carry on from where it left off and not from the beginning. Well, at least it did that with FEAR 2.
Yeah, it works.
What exactly is a turn? Is this TBC or RTS? I thought it was an RTS.
You have a big campaign map of the world, from there you can choose to build armies, upgrade your cities, reasearch stuff, diplomacy and other things. The units on the maps can only move so far in a turn. However in these turns you can choose to enter combat or during an AI turn, they can enter combat with you. You can either auto resolve the combat and let the AI decide on factors as to who won or you can play it in Real time, which is great.
What exactly is a turn? Is this TBC or RTS? I thought it was an RTS.
Never played any of the Total War series before? Basically, on the campaign map, you have as long as you want to do what you need to do, buying buildings, setting diplomacy and faction options, building your army etc etc, it's only when two armies fight, whatever reason (attacking, sieging etc etc) that the fighting is in real time.
What exactly is a turn? Is this TBC or RTS? I thought it was an RTS.
How can you not have played a Total War game?
