It used to crash a lot to begin with. But after I think some ninja patching I have experienced much greater stability, both in SP and MP.
Yes, thanks to Steam. They can ninja patch before you can say anything. Muahahahahhahaha!
Anyone else coming up with any good strategies? I'm starting to fall in love with light infantry and irregulars, not militia, but Native musketeers and rangers. I used a bunch to flank a Native American army, and caught them in a beautiful crossfire between them and my line infantry. Won a heroic victory for the first time at hard. Whenever they tried to charge, they would be shredded by musket fire and retreat just as they reached my lines.
What's so special about irregulars?
I will get it tomorrow and play as my great nation Sweden can't wait

http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/5025/85001121.png
I usually just sort my guys out into some sort of defensive formation, people covering the flanks. Once the enemy makes their attacking intentions clear or I wipe out their flanking attempt, I fold my flanks to close around the enemy currently engaging my front line and crush them.
What's so special about irregulars?
They hide really well as they're small, and they don't fire by rank, so they all fire instead of just the first rank.
They also remain hidden while walking. Handy in MP for sniping their arty crews.
Any good tactics to use against mass cavalry?
How come when I siege a town and it's my 2000 men vs their 100 and I demand their surrender they never accept it? I don't even see the point of it as a gameplay feature.

From there I'll get a foothold at Europe, and can destroy Portugal.
Any good tactics to use against mass cavalry?
Stakes and many line infantry
Square formation?
What the fuck, I can recruit 64-pounder artillery? Overkill :D I'm so buying some.
Holy shit how
Probably playing as the Ottomans, they have some serious artillery.
Holy shit how
Maratha confederacy. A special building called "military engineer school" became available in my largest city. Allows me to build "large mortars" and "64-lber Great Guns".

Pictures are demanded
Pictures are demanded
Impossible right now. The net on my gaming PC is broken, and I'm currently typing this on my EEE laptop while playing the singleplayer on ETW on the other. So unless I use an usb stick drive to transfer the pic to this computer I can't post it yet. But I will later.
I just finished the Road to Independence, pretty good, a bit short but now I can get back to my Grand Campagin as Britian
Bought this on Steam. Waiting for it to download, Steam's really slow today.
New patch out sometime this week. I hope they finish the crash problems already so they can start fixing the gameplay bugs. Like no naval invasions. Playing Great Britain is instant win because the A.I can't invade you. I spent countless amounts of money reinforcing the island with forts, armies and navies, only to find out it was all wasted. I think the passive a.i needs fixing aswell, it's so easy to just bulldoze european colonies in north america because they never bother defending them.
C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\save_games
Can't find it. There is no The Creative Assembly folder, the only thing I found is the files inside the Steam common folder, and the saves are nowhere to be found. I'm using vista.
Yes there is, you must go into your C:\Users\Yourname\

It'll be either this patch or the next one seeming they were asking for people save files so they could see what was going on with them.
Yes there is, you must go into your C:\Users\Yourname\
Checked there, not there.
It's there for everyone else, something's wrong.
There is no appdata folder at all, but when I search for it it shows up. But there is no The Creative Assembly folder at all, only the steam common folder.

Most of the files are hidden, so enable "Show hidden files and folders" in your folder settings. In a window, press ALT > Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders. It should be somewhere around there.
