Can someone tell me the difference between a harder difficulty campaign map to a normal difficulty, and I dont mean the battle difficulty, the campaign difficulty

Enemies build faster, hit you with larger armies, sometimes several times at once.

Mine is foxdonut, but since we all live on different continents, we have to deal with the shitty region lock with Hamachi.

Why can't they make the AI smarter in higher difficulties instead of giving them cheat bonuses?

No, ETW doesn't allow you to play with overseas people for many people like me, but a solution I've tested with TrouserDemon is Hamachi.

Also, I'm getting more problems with multiplayer, whenever I try to play with my friend I get a "no response from host" error.

Yeah, but it's cumbersome wen you have to switch it back to your closest location to download a patch or install a game.

The UK, since the AI can't do amphibious assaults on the Isles so you're perfectly safe from all non-colonial enemies.
Yeah, I really hope they patch in stuff like the AI being able to put armies on ships. In any case, the multiplayer campaign will make the AI issues irrelevant.

Heres an interesting question: I've never played multiplayer before, but I know for single player theres the unit size option. How is this chosen in multiplayer, since it wouldn't work if one person had a small amount of people per unit and another person has full unit sizes.
