Is it just me or is the multiplayer campaign not here as promised?
Getting patched in at some point, SEGA rushed the release so they'd be the only major title in the spring release drought.
Is it just me or do sometimes the cannons just act like bitches and do nothing.
According to one CA employee, with the exception of a few bugs, minor gameplay fixes and balance issues, the game IS how the creators intended for it to be. Everything they wanted to be in, is.
Not really. You can find left-over files of a royal family tree, and there are more (un-finished) historical battles in the .pack files.

Perhaps your cannons are placed out of range?

He mentioned that in the same interview and stuff like that is stuff that they tried to implement and for whatever reason didn't work out, so they dropped it. Yeah I'll admit they got rushed by Sega, but still, they said that they got everything they wanted into it so...
From the interview
This is as above. There are features that were removed for gameplay and design reasons. Where we felt something had been implemented but perhaps didn't properly 'fit' the experience or did not add anything to it, whilst adding another layer of difficulty it was made redundant. There are some examples of features that went in very early into Empire's creation that were later dropped for gameplay or time reasons, but these are deliberately ommitted. Nothing here is 'half finished' or 'incomplete' these features or factions are deliberately not in place. This is because of decisions made at a project level.
Though I think the "we got everything we wanted" was from another member of CA, I forget which specifically.

That happens with me, more with horse and foot artillery than fixed.

I've seen both mine and AI cannons do this, and it seems to be much more common with horse artillery. Very annoying, especially when you know they still have ammo.

I found out when playing as the Mughal Empire that they have a full nation description, along with their own introductory advisor advice, though they aren't playable without certain mods, such as the Imperial Splendour mod, so apparently, CA dropped production of that faction for some reason.
I just attacked middle prussia (held by poland) as prussia. Some crazy shit happened, and for some reason, reinforcements from the city and my besieging force came to help this small skirmish at a nearby farm where our reinforcements spawned right next to each other and I eventually won. Well, this meant I was besieging a city with no garrison. I attacked it again and promptly ctd'd :(
You're still right to wait Keri. Creative typically does a merely average job when they release a new Total War game. They usually wait until the expansion to add things that should have been there in the first place (computer controlled reinforcements for example).
By waiting now you'll get the bug fixes as they come and more importantly, mods that fix the shitty game balance and other stuff. I bought the game at release, but I've waited until now to really play it now that Darth mod and some of the other mods are maturing. It's way way better now with these mods. I don't feel there's only one or two units I can use anymore and I see far less stupid shit like only 4 of 100+ natives dying while they charge into musket fire at 8 feet away.
I hate naval battles, but I feel like there's actual strategy in them now with these mods.
:v: I just finished off the last of the native Americans! that'll show them, living on their native land and such!
edit:
:v::tinfoil::v: emots!
How do you build buildings in occupied territory? It's only letting me build a palace and fortifications after I wiped out hannover.

Because those are the only things your research allows you to build?
Is it just me or do sometimes the cannons just act like bitches and do nothing.
I tried to reposition my howitsers in a battle today, but every time I limbered them, they unlimbered straight away. Basically I couldn't move them at all.

No, I can build plenty of other things. The building sites for barracks and such do not even appear. Additionally, the palace cannot be upgraded.
don't think this has been posted yet

basically short daily updates by Jack Lusted, he writes what we can expect from future patches etc

That's because it's a 'minor' city. These can only have fortifications and the government building (which can be upgraded into a military governor's building or a normal one, you can change it by demolishing it and building it again).
Got a problem! D: My Greenwich port in England was damaged a while back, and there isn't an option to repair it now I've noticed! I have all the money I need and there isn't any explanation as to why i can't repair it. There isn't even a grayed out button! Help me please!
try move a unit from an army into it, i had that problem and it fixed it.
thanks, I'll try it
Fixed it thanks. Somehow I declared war on Spain at the same time, but oh well

Turn off fire at will and wait for the guns to fire their shots before unlimbering.
The artillery is kinda annoying to handle at times. And while you try to move them you get rushed somewhere else.
Why don't your allies help you? I call the yanks for help when I declare war on the Iroquois and they do nothing (same for all the others they are right next to). I don't expect allies to sail round the world for me, it's just local battles they might try and help tbh.
If they're in the war, they'll eventually get off their ass. Eventually.

Hopefully mods like Darthmod and Quixote's mods won't interfere with AI naval invasions/intelligence when the patch is released.
Sadly, with all of the bugs, the crashes, the incredibly low performance; i'd rather play Medieval Total War 2 than this.
what was wrong with Medieval 2 anyway?
Sadly, with all of the bugs, the crashes, the incredibly low performance; i'd rather play Medieval Total War 2 than this.
Actually, it's probably your computer/version of the game, not every single game. I bought the game from Steam and it runs perfectly except for a crash that happens every 1-3 months where I have to reinstall the game. Still, considering how much of an improvement it is over other RTS strategy games, and how it has excellent mods (such as Imperial Splendour mod) that don't mess up the game, it's still worth the money.
