I had one before which was named a bunch of capital letters, forgot what they were though. It made the game really dark and the storms were great. and by really dark I mean at night you couldn't see at all without a flashlight. I loved that one but later in the game my vision went blurry and I couldn't fix it. had to continue playing like that and it gave me a headache so I haven't played since. reinstalled yesterday

It could of been L.U.R.K or AMK, it might of been a feature where you had to sleep to get rid of it because of being tired. Though it honestly depends on what your looking for, your best bet would be to ask in the Stalker thread in GGD and ask what mods are best suited to what you want. There is a mod list around there somewhere

I paid $60 and I thought it was worth it. You'll get at least 30 hours out of it if you play through the main story, but I don't know how much the DLC adds.

Best bet is check out gameplay videos. It's a pretty harsh game, but fantastically fun. There's some hefty realism chunked in with some hefty unrealism. Quite a unique game. The GGD thread folks are pretty nice, so don't be afraid to poke your head in there too.
Edit: For some explanation of what I mean by realism; cover is incredibly important. Bleeding exists, and is a serious threat. You have to carry food for when you get hungry. Wildlife will attack you and murder the motherfuck out of you if you aren't careful, even well equipped Stalkers will get ripped to shreds by a pack of dogs if they aren't careful. Ammo isn't all that scarce, but you can certainly run out of the ammo type for your gun if you aren't careful. Also you can't carry 47 rifles, 32 pistols, 106 grenades and 5000 rounds of ammo for all of them. There's a hard weight limit and a soft limit that makes your stamina drop quickly when you go past it. (50 lbs is the soft, 60 lbs is the hard. At 60+ you can't move.)

It's basically a Fallout-ish shooter, minus leveling-up.
Ugh, Fable III, It's not just bad, it's horrible. It's stupidly short, you can't die, at all, the missions are way too easy, the combat is boring, and you're railroaded onto this "Path of Kings" instead of any sort of level progression. All the weapons are pretty much the same, and magic is now infinite and overpowered.
That and the main draw of the game, the section where you are King, is probably the shortest and most unsatisfying portion to any game I've ever played.

I'd like to try it, but I've heard so many things that say its bad and other people saying its alright, but there's no way to know whether it's enjoyable because there's no demo or anything of the sort. I don't think it's worth $13 if it's really THAT bad.

I agree. I voted Darkness 2 because Fable 3 bores me. I have it on Xbox and I just can't get to playing it through.
