Ultimate editions (or GOTY or Complete or whatever) are intended to try to suck as much cash out of people that haven't bought the game yet as they can... if you bought it within the first year or two, before the Ultimate Edition, they figure that you either like the game enough to buy the DLC separate, or you don't like it enough to buy any of it. [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] Comes with ALL the DLC, including the Awakening DLC, which when released cost $40 and all 9 smaller DLC packs. Totally worth the extra $2.50 if you've never played it. Except... for me it says $4.99 for the base game, and $12.49 for the Ultimate? Where are you that there's only a $2.50 difference?
For me the base and the ultimate are the same price.

Well, so far I got: Duke Nukem Forever Collection Double Fine Bundle Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack Machinarium Limbo Cubemen Summer Sale Indie Bundle Day One Summer Sale Indie Bundle Day Two Binding of Isaac Bundle (Summer 2012) Worms Reloaded - GOTY Poker Night in the Inventory ...I still have £40. :U
Bought Super Meat Boy.. Couldn't resist. At last there is a platformer with a challenge.
Bah, normally I would owe my friend cash and he would nab me a game but he's gone right now and both of my backups are out of money. What are the odds of the DA:O deal showing up again?
Surely that's exaggerated, but the main point is still true.
I'm only going by the first guide given in the DOTA general discussion thread on Facepunch. http://www.playdota.com/guides/welcome-to-dota-you-suck
Welcome to DotA. You suck, and you are going to be constantly reminded of this fact for about 6-9 months (if you learn). If you read this guide and use your brain and be actively aware of how bad you suck, you can easily shave 3-6 months off of your complete noob status. You could even play easy mode(em) and make some kids think that you’re really good, but only if they are bad.
It doesn't even say what an easy modem is, so I'm assuming that's some insult.

Mostly bots but one all player game. It's not a good experience.
I was really expecting Puzzle Agent 2 to win, but it got fucked over pretty bad in the votes.
The Longest Journey and Dreamfall are AWESOME GAMES and all of you should buy them. Er, buy them in 26 minutes. [sp]I also voted for PA2, only because I already own TLJ.[/sp]

The point is to have fun and you learning how to play is half the fun
Well, I missed the first indie bundle which had Lone Survivor that is now around 6$ or something. Is it worth it?
I find it silly to say that you're not going to play a game because it takes a while to become good at it. The point is to have fun and you learning how to play is half the fun
If you knew the community that plays DOTA (and especially LoL, it's F2P step-brother) you would be hesitant to play it as well if you didn't already know how to play
Already have Dead island, what should i vote :)?
Ogod vote space marine!
I find it silly to say that you're not going to play a game because it takes a while to become good at it. The point is to have fun and you learning how to play is half the fun
In some games. With Dota watching hours of videos and being yelled at and called every name in the book is not fun.
Already have Dead island, what should i vote :)?
Well if you like RTS games then Shogun is a great game to get, or if you want a TPS where you cut orcs in half with a chainsaw gun vote Space Marine. I personally voted for Shogun
Voting for dead island because I want to play it with a friend of mine.
Is E.Y.E good for $2.50?
Okay is Dragon Age Origins worth the 7 euro? From what i have heard its a pretty 'hardcore high-fantasy' RPG, i did enjoy Fable 1, 2 and 3 a lot and i also enjoyed Diablo 1 + 2. I have seen lots of positive reviews but since its from EA you can't be very sure about them..
I find it silly to say that you're not going to play a game because it takes a while to become good at it. The point is to have fun and you learning how to play is half the fun
I find it silly that you think it's silly that I don't want to put that much effort into a game. Some people enjoy playing games like this that have very high learning curves, or games that take months of effort for a payoff, like WoW or EVE online or DF or maybe even Minecraft. That's great for them, they're allowed to do whatever they want. Not everybody wishes to do that. Some people just like quick bursts of fun between friends, like me and my pals do. Just because somebody doesn't like the same things you do doesn't mean that they're wrong or stupid.
If you knew the community that plays DOTA (and especially LoL, it's F2P step-brother) you would be hesitant to play it as well if you didn't already know how to play
I have 300 hours of dota and the i've only been yelled at a few times and that was from a friend of mine. I also have zero experience outside dota 2 and even on asian servers people are really chill when I accidentally miss my hook as pudge

Honestly I'd have kept trying if I didn't already have so many other games I want to play. I'm going through a singleplayer phase right now.

Is The Longest Journey good? I bought it on an impulse because its rating is high and it's so cheap.
What are the odds of the Peggle complete pack going on a flash or community sale you reckon?
i'm not saying you're wrong or stupid for not wanting to play dota, it's your choice and I don't care if you want to play or not, i'm just saying -as someone who has played dota- to you -someone who hasn't- that it's possible to have fun with the game without putting in mountains of effort in order to learn all the mechanics
Fair enough. I mistook your "silly" comment as calling me, personally, silly (or "intellectually weak and foolish," according to the dictionary.) I'm probably gonna try it anyway seeing as it's going to be F2P. (I've been wrong about games like this before, though. I thought that Skyrim was the dumbest shit until I played it in December and have since sunk over 200 hours into the game.)
Is The Longest Journey good? I bought it on an impulse because its rating is high and it's so cheap.
It's GREAT. You should buy Dreamfall as well.
If I get Thief II: The Metal Age, is there any point to getting the other ones?
eh, it won't let me buy stalker. I keep getting this message:
There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance.
I tried buying it from the browser too and it still won't work
