Thanks again to Jurikuer!
Also before I sign off, I recommend the game Capsized from the Indie Bundle. It's only like $3-4, and it's a whole lot of fun, and looks gorgeous to boot. Also Jamestown is an amazingly fun topdown shooter for 4 dollars. It only has local co-op, but if you can play this game with a few friends its some of the most fun I've had.
Thank you so much Jurikuer for Oblivion. I pronounce Jurikuer as the most generous person on Facepunch.

darn it, there are too many nice people in the thread
darn it, there are too many nice people in the thread
Nice people anywhere make me feel good about the world though to be honest. I'd rather be that guy who donated a few bucks for someone to be happy and entertained than to be that guy who tells them to stop begging and to get a job. Why do that? It's rude. If you can hook someone up and you don't mind doing it, then go for it. Otherwise, just leave it alone. You know? If you want to be nice do it, if you want to be a dink, don't. Simple logic :D
I love this sale. I've bought so many games that I've been wanting.
I wish I knew why my paypal doesn't work in the store all of a sudden
I kind of want to get Bulletstorm

It is a fun game. I'm honestly very surprised it didn't do well for the longest time. And apparently still doesn't do well. Heck, the developers blame shitty sales and piracy on them not doing a sequel, which is BS.
Jurikuer is freakin' awesome. just lurking in this thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
wow borderlands really
if you haven't picked it up in any of its other 43423432432423424 sales at the same price you're dumb
borderlands won
cool
fucking ninjas
Look on the bright side: It's not Modern Warfare.
Look on the bright side: It's not Modern Warfare.
either way I would have passed up this community choice like I have for about 95% of them
Look on the bright side: It's not Modern Warfare.
hah poor modern warfare, it lost the community choice against skyrim so they put it again here with borderlands and UT and it still lost.
Everyone should play Borderlands, just saying.
I don't understand why you guys hate on Modern Warfare so much.
It's a game. Deal with it.

Personally I don't agree with the developers choice to resell the same game over and over again with very little changes. It's the same game as MW1. Heck the graphics barely changed if at all. I just feel they got lazy and are milking a franchise because they know people will buy it.

MW3 is the first CoD game where you can truly point at it and say "rehashed bullshit"
it's the worst in the series by far
Can someone explain how Call of Duty went from WWII Shooter to what it is now? I have a copy of the original, never really bothered to seriously play it, but an explanation would be appreciated.

Video gaming is now an industry, though. That means that corporatism will (and already has) inevitably invade the form, and nothing is sacred. If it can turn a large profit for the lowest costs possible, they'll monetize the shit out of it. That's why Modern Warfare didn't change, because they were able to cut development costs by maintaining the same form, the same engine - even the same assets. I don't agree with it, but that's the situation we're in right now.
At least we still have a few great developers who put out awesome games outside of publisher demands.

You should play it. The first two Call of Duty games were actually very good fun.
They took the inevitable plunge to the modern theme with CoD4 which wasn't too bad, but then greed and laziness led to the constant rehash/cash-in mentality.

Call of Duty was a franchise based on WW2 before Modern Warfare came out. In 2007 (I think?), Infinity Ward picked up the franchise and developed an IP called Modern Warfare, just branded with the Call of Duty name in front of it. It was more of a spiritual successor to Call of Duty's WW2-era past. However, Modern Warfare sold like hotcakes (it was pretty fucking fun, honestly), and thus began the era of modern, tactical shooters.

WWII Military Sims used to be the game to get. But as time rolled by people wanted more modern shooters, some even futuristic. Ghost Recon is a great example of futuristic war sim. Halo is an example of a very futuristic yet fantasy sci-fi war sim that bit the bullet and took a chance. Turned out very popular that way. Right now WWII sims aren't in but history repeats itself as can be recognized by any fad. It'll come back, with a vengeance.
new vote
rayman or orcs must die i guess
I'm voting for Rayman, in case people didn't buy it before.
You guys have to play it, it's amazing.
