Thorny asks what exactly happens
I click "New Game", click "Rookie" (i always start new mods on rookie), it loads up (freaky loading bar, made me think something was broken), and it shows the loading bar as full, but then it just stops. I left it for like, a half hour and it didn't start the game.
Please tell me it's optional. PLEASE.
Why would you not like it?

Did you press the spacebar to start it?
does the new hud in redux allow for triple monitor resolutions? there is a fixed default hud/dialog boxes on wsgf that i might have to use if not
Thorny has no idea and you'll have to try for yourself.

Thorny says:
1: You don't play Redux on Rookie. Read the freaking ReadMe.
2. It does work, and I'm pretty sure you're overexaggerating about how long you let it load for.
hud breaks on triple monitors, if thorny could make a optional component to make the hud fit one monitor that would be epic, an example with the default hud is available here
I found them with ease on SMRTR and vanilla though :/
Nevermind, I found them.
Just didn't do a good enough job searching for them.
Why would you not like it?
Because LURK (right now, anyway) is hard enough. With no autosaves, the game would be next to impossible.

"Autosave after task completions confirmed for LURK"
It will save after you complete part of a quest, whenever that little confirmation comes up after doing something. Along with that we'll also have saving at certain places. But we are thinking about disabling anywhere saving.
If I'm interpreting this correctly, LURK would also save after failed tasks, yes? when mole dies, for example, the quest 'updates'. that's pretty hardcore, and I'd support it if LURK didn't have broken quests already.

Nonono. Each update writes to a different save file like
derpname - Find Strelok's Stash - 01.1.2012 15:00
derpname - Save Mole - 01.1.2012 13:00
derpname - Find Mole - 01.1.2012 4:00

There is not much suspense when you can save anywhere. There's no loss. If we do go with disabling it, the spots where you could save would probably be anywhere that's safe from blowouts.
Pripyat's a fuckin' nightmare man! Gauss Riflers everywhere, i'm running out of resources! Barkeep is so far away! FUCK MAN, FUCK! :byodood:
Hey guys, I've got a confession to make. I never finished any stalkers, I've owned it since release and I just can't be bothered to play it unless its a mod like vanilla but add features. Pleas encourage me to finish it, I want to but cant be arsed.

I had that problem with SoC, but I played through CS and now I'm going to do the same with CoP.
Night Sniping + Vintorez (Made by Nimble of course) + Night Vision + squad of unsuspecting victims = fun
Im going to do Complete 2012, just got new GFX. Wish me luck.

I'm pretty sure there's like a law or something that makes it illegal for people to mod a game before they finish playing it at least once to the end.
I'm pretty sure there's like a law or something that makes it illegal for people to mod a game before they finish playing it at least once to the end.
Even for a GFX mod?
Even for a GFX mod?
...yes. Because according to this law, that does exist it still modifies the atmosphere of the original product.
I'm pretty sure there's like a law or something that makes it illegal for people to mod a game before they finish playing it at least once to the end.
I'm pretty sure I broke that law too many times then.

I'm a prefix stealer :saddowns:
Goddom, I guess I'll trudge through it then. I'll start now, ta-ta STALKERS.

He's found the Golden Sphe..wait, that's not gold.
Anyways the main reason I love STALKER is it got more what the hell is going on moments than any game I've ever played.
Too many a times have pack of wild dogs seemingly appeared out of thin air to ruin very important missions of mine.
Not that creating a mass pile of dead bodies is a very important mission.
Also too many times have I think I've killed every snork or bloodsucker in a given area only to get the shit scared out of me seconds later by a face full of tentacles or a torso full of claws.

Seriously, they are crazy about that stuff.

Then you should reduce enemy damage, fighting in close quarters was frustrating enough with quick save, it would piss me off to go through a firefight and suddenly die because you got blindsided by a bandit with a shotgun.
Also, about how often would these saves be? As in, in regular gameplay, how long would it take to get to the next checkpoint? Sometimes I just have to quit in the middle of my game, and I won't be happy with having to fight my way to another save.
