I remember one time I had to hide from an emission in CoP. I was in the train tunnel where you fight the controller in one of the Scientist Missions. I had just cleared the place of it's new inhabitants when I spotted a Duty Patrol making a mad dash for the tunnels. I was tempted to say "come on! hurry up, you idiots!" but then people would look at me weirdly for yelling at a computer. still, I watched them die. the Emission passed over them and they just dropped dead. when it was safe, I came out, and gave a eulogy. and by "gave a eulogy", I mean "looted their corpses for everything I could carry". it's basically the same thing in the Zone...

Hawaiian gives better deals and has more money. I'm a Loner, remember? I look after myself and the few I can call "friends" for now.
I can't get Call of Pripyat to run anymore and it's on a fresh install. It shows I'm playing it in friends and the process starts but nothing ever happens.
[release]In the latest issue GamePlay readers submitted questions to S. Grigorovich. "I'm sure: STALKER 2 will uniquely beat STALKER records from the console versions." "We like to work with professionals - is the main principle. "Books on the STALKER world to date sold 3.5 million copies."
Interview with Sergei Grigorovich with fans
In preparation for the interview, we always try to ask exactly the questions that we think are interesting to readers. Now, however, we decided to play it safe. At a forum, Gameplay readers asked Sergei what they particularly wanted to know, and he personally responded to some questions. The process was somewhat delayed, but it was worth it.
Toha91: Is it true that the next STALKER will be on CryEngine?
Sergei Grigorovich: No. We have considered this idea to get a quick and cheap switch to the console, saving on our own porting. But now realized all the work will be on the basis of X-Ray Engine.
DyadyaBOB When will DLC be introduced?
Sergei Grigorovich: I do not know. Does it even need it? There must be games that vparivayut gamers rubbish heap, capitalizing on the desire to measure their achievements.
mXs_MaestR031: In the future are you going to open subsidiaries in other countries?
Sergei Grigorovich Publications directions - gathered, but the crisis pushed back everything indefinitely. Studio design - no.
dyadyaBOB: Do you plan to develop and promote the STALKER community in the world of social networking?
Sergei Grigorovich Development of community players - yes, but to fight for the top global social networks - no.
Happynes: Sergei, the STALKER series has three projects. After the release of STALKER 2 What are further plans for the series?
Sergei Grigorovich: STALKER 2 also will be a trilogy. At the same time releasing something else on the world STALKER It intrigues me to say. We see great prospects in the development of the brand.
Sinapsi: Do you plan to develop the games of other genres, except for RTS and FPS?
Sergei Grigorovich Yes. In Woody Allen there is drama and comedy. Genre is not important, important idea.
IW477: In many modern games there are romantic lines. In Dragon Age: Origins, for example, even homosexual. Why not STALKER? Even if it was homosexual.
Sergei Grigorovich: This is the first question that after reading it gave me a good laugh, and made me realize that I have no answer.
Vanadium: STALKER is known and love abroad. What can explain this phenomenon?
Sergei Grigorovich We gave them too interesting, as the samurai or ninja.
Vanadium Why do not you release a demo of the games?
Sergei Grigorovich: For an FPS it is expensive and, in my opinion, unnecessary. Demo games are important for the unique new genres. When you want to show that to you this never been done in principle.
deni92 Many people have very negative attitudes about STALKER that are not always justified. What do you think about this?
Sergey Grigorovich There is no, what would all like, perhaps, except the hero of the film "Perfume" (laughs).
E. Unknown: As I understand it, GSC World Publishing distributes games only in Ukraine (perhaps even in the CIS). Do you plan on expanding the publishing business?
Sergei Grigorovich GSC World Publishing released «STALKER: Call of Pripyat" in the CIS. "Heroes of Annihilated Empires" - around the world. A decision on an independent publication product to a particular territory is taken exclusively from considerations of profitability of the scheme. Sometimes, to cooperate with the publisher is profitable.
Just a Donetsk Boy: How are things going with the promotion of the brand in the West? Expecting the infusion of funds into the project from foreign investors?
Sergei Grigorovich I think not. It so happened that our resources are more than we can use wisely.
Soiler: Do you plan to release STALKER or Cossacks on handheld consoles?
Sergei Grigorovich We have some developments with STALKER for the PSP, but the output of such a project will depend on the willingness of Western partners. Cossacks in this vein, imagine a little. I think that the RTS - the inheritance of PC.
Soiler: How do you see your projects in the context of the world and the Ukrainian game industry?
Sergei Grigorovich: Cossacks and STALKER occupy in the domestic industry first and second places respectively. As far as the west, we - just hit the first hit in sales. Such games are usually a few per year.
Cloud: Did the crisis affect the selling of "Clear Sky" and "Call of Pripyat" or the company as a whole? Not laid off if people are willing to do a second part, whether it money?
Sergei Grigorovich: Total implementation of the "Clean Sky" and "Call of Pripyat" is the same as the original STALKER, and they all continue to buy, while sales of the first game has already stopped. Rate of sales for the expansion is 15-30%. Clear Sky's rate was 60% which is unprecedented in the industry. The figures for the add-ons to the "Cossacks" were 24% and 19% respectively, which fits into the standard. Moreover, I am sure: STALKER2 definitely will beat STALKER's record from the console versions, due to the increasing notability of the brand. I hasten to remind you that books on the world STALKER have so far sold 3.5 million copies.
Now the second part of the question: After the project people of course were fired. In two stages. Only the departments of research, testing, programmers, Department of consoles. But every time we are firing a large group of experts after the project. This business operates - the staff required to complete the project, not in demand at the start of the development of the next. Because there are always key professionals, and the rest are recruited as work progressed. It's like a building: Today alignment flooring, parquet means is needed. We hire people throughout the development cycle, and firing portions. For example, in film and hired and fired groups, ie, after the script and made preprodiction, hire a team of one to six months, then all dismissed.
Znaharl2 STALKER's story, for me, is lame. Many things were clear from the outset. Do you think in the future you will hire a professional writer?
Sergei Grigorovich: People are different. And each story has its own customer. This seemed to us appropriate for the widest possible audience. Even the literary work, dissenting huge print runs, to the nines divided critics. Sometimes, critics favorable, and the product is not selling. For example, most people consider the film "Stalker" boring. A professional writer, we always attract.
Aleksandras Why is the world of STALKER completely missing women?
Sergei Grigorovich: During our repeated visits to the Chernobyl zone, we have seen how this harsh and dangerous place. And in the world. STALKER is more frequent releases and mutants. Therefore, when designing the project of introducing the characters of women dropped out of itself. However, not being supporters of conflicts and prejudices of a sexual nature, we plan to add women to the next game. The Animator's already clutching his head from the amount of work, but the ЗD-modelers are happy (laughs).
Aleksandras: Name the game of your dreams.
Sergei Grigorovich In 2001, it was STALKER. Now it is Cossacks 3.
inozerg: Sergey, I remember that you went to Pripyat. So how is it? It is terrible is not it?
Sergei Grigorovich: The first time it seemed pretty bad, because radiation can be everywhere and it's invisible. I play it safe and after a trip burn my clothes. Then the smart people, suggests that the greatest danger - a sip of heavy particles, and the best ride in the mask covering the nose and mouth. The rest of Chernobyl, in many places is cleaner than in Kiev (laughs).
Aleksandras Are you planning to move away from creating projects for the STALKER game world and do something new?
Sergei Grigorovich: Ideas, as always, a lot. However, before implementation, I know from experience, surviving units. We will definitely inform all the news through the website.
INVADER: Dear Sergei, What is the case with the adaptation of STALKER?
Sergei Grigorovich: Working on this issue. I hope soon to please with good news.

STALKER 2 is a confirmed trilogy? Excuse me while I go jump on my bed.
women in the next game? female protagonist maybe? confirmed trilogy? I'll love to see how STALKER 2 shapes up to be.
and what the hell are they talking about when they say "Books on the STALKER world to date sold 3.5 million copies"? STALKER books?
Confirmed, next STALKER game may have homosexual relationships
Confirmed, next STALKER game may have homosexual relationships
and women. put the two together and miracles happen.
fucking lesbians! how do they work?
I hope they don't water down the pc version just to make the console gamers happy though
I hope the console version is retarded so nobody buys it
So we PC users get STALKER all to ourselves.
I don't want all the retards at my school who game on consoles running around going "OH YEA U KNO THAT GAEM STAKR? I OWN SO GOOD AT IT , U SUC CUZ U PLAYE PC STAKR"
I also hope STALKER doesn't have relationships.. and even female characters. It's going to turn into Dykeville/Little Miss Badass Town. And If they do.. I'll make them my slaves
I hope the console version is extra good so console gamers can get in on stalker
I just hope the pc version isn't affected, know what I'm saying?
I hope they make the PC version like they normally would without thinking about the consoles and then port it over.
I hope STALKER doesn't get onto the consoles :colbert:
I wish they would just optimize their engine to a more appreciable level.
[editline]12:30AM[/editline]
^ That too
I thought that the console market wasn't particularly big east of Germany.
Why is GSC focusing so much on consoles?
Because they know thats what everyone is on these days.
I hope they first make STALKER 2, perfect it, then port it to the consoles if they're thinking of multiplatforming it. I have nothing against porting SoC and CoP into the consoles. Well, at least there won't be a sausage-fest and dick measuring competitions everywhere in the next game.

thats like telling gabe newell not to eat so much
thats like telling gabe newell not to eat so much
But just like both (Well maybe not Gabe Newell) it is not impossible.
On the other hand, any shader mods for CoP coming soon? I'm tired of looking at the surface which seems like it's painted on.
Also, I don't know why, but I can't imagine a Stalkeress(?) going as far as to Rostok. Hell, it would be a wonder for me if I would see a woman at the Garbage.

I want to read a book about STALKER :C
Anyone know of any translated ones?
Wait.. Did they mention releasing their books in other languages? Or did I misunderstand??
