Wet surfaces are DirectX 10 only due to the fact that it uses some weird shader thing that's not available in the DX9 API or something like that. :v:
AAAAaaaaawww, Shit!
I really liked the water stuff.
Do I really suck or is LURK just damn hard?
I can`t even save the guys in the hangar at novice with like 6 medpacks to heal them all the time.
Are the level changers gonna be dangerous?
Like you need to figure "Should I use my money on a Guide or take the chance."
There's no way to do that unfortunately :(
thorny did you consider the optional hud fix i asked about? can understand if you dont want to its probably a lot of effort for very few users but it would be nice as both the default and redux hud are unusable on multiple monitors
I wouldn't know how to fix it I'm afraid.
Also I'm willing to learn on how to mod STALKER games. Is there any turorial I could follow and such?
Stalker modding wiki - It's outdated, but still works a lot of the time.
Otherwise, add me on Steam and I'll be happy to pass on my knowledge - that's how i learnt, after all :)
They never make it to X8.
Actually, it depends on how you do several missions. If you kill the Ecologist selling info to the Mercs in Pripyat, they will be everywhere. If you don't, they'll fall back and usually make their base the X8 building once it's clear of Monolith/Zombies.
I still haven't continued with my comic. I'd better start nao.
I'm also finishing a preety long Gmod comic about a loner called Oleg "Fiend" Gusarov from Shadow of Chernobyl. It's very hard to do it, I never have the time to pose everyone for the NPP and it's usually a one panel per day. It would be easier if the damn game would learn how to save.
Does anyone have any advice for the CNPP on SoC? If I edge forward and try to kill everyone the [sp]blowout[/sp] timer will run out but if I sprint I usually get one-shotted by someone (I'm already on easy D:). I'm considering just finding some invincibility cheat, I just want to finish the game :saddowns:

Move from cover to cover, check your back for Military Stalkers, try not to get spotted by helicopters. Once the blowout triggers make a dash towards West, hip fire at Monolith from close range and toss some grenades at MS's if they spot you. Soon you will find a huge blast door that's half opened. Run inside before the Monolithians with Gauss Rifles at the rooftop on the building next to the NPP have a chance to react. Did you picked up an exta armor from Pripyat and do you have the Exoskeleton? Those are needed so you could take more damage and still be capable of fighting back.
All I did in Pripyat was go straight through to reach the CNPP, my armour is some Duty coloured armour/hazmat type suit.

Now there's your problem. You didn't brought the Exoskeleton. If you did you could just run across the whole Pripyat without a scratch and get inside the Sarcophagous without much problem. Anyhow, use my advices, inside, you'll find some Bulat suits and an Exoskeleton. Did you got the decoder from the hotel in Pripyat?
Nope, no decoder, I went straight from the [sp]Brain Scorcher[/sp] to Pripyat, continuing the sarcophagus quest.

Enjoy your bad ending.
:saddowns: At the moment all I want is AN ending at all. I'll watch the good ending on youtube then get CoP.
Oh by the way, if I was to play this game again in the future how would I go about getting the quest for the decoder?

Sometime after the X16 mission(or after turning off the Brain Scorcher, I can't remember correctly) you'll get a quest that says "Talk to Guide". Go back to the Cordon and to the place where you met Fox. Search Guide's body or talk to him and you'll get a quest to find Doctor. He's inside Strelok's stash in Agroprom underground. Speak to him and you'll get a mission to pick up the decoder from Strelok's apartment in the hotel in Pripyat(next to the Monolith HQ). Then you will have to go to the NPP and find a secret blast door that you'll have to open with the decoder to enter inside the MCC.
I don't understand why Charon should be Scar? Only because he's armed with an VSS?
I don't understand why Charon should be Scar? Only because he's armed with an VSS?
Well, it ain't just a coincidence to have an expert Monolithian(Scar's [sp]Brainwash marathon at the NPP[/sp]) that is the only guy that uses the VSS in SoC. But it could be anyone as far as I'm concerned, but hey, he is the strongest placeholder for Scar and his fate we have right now.
Scar is the monolith guard in Pripyat. His NAME is even Scar.

Pics or it's a lie!
but SoC was made before CS so how would it work out.
I'd say they planned it from the start but we all know they penned clear sky in 5 minutes.
but SoC was made before CS so how would it work out.
CS was a backstory for every character. Besides, GSC tends to strecth every veteran's backstory as far as they can. Like Leishy being just a random guy in Freedom in SoC and in CS he is the leader of the merc team that opens a path to Limansk.

Scar! Quick! You must x the y before they reach the NPP! However they're always in another z so you never reach them!
I like that fact that the player meets old stalkers which are also present in the other games. It feels a lot more realistic and characters like Snag, Nimble and co are cool.
Nimble is the man.

Nimble is the man but Yar is the badass.
Yar=badass with the most accurate gun in the world
Nimble=manly man
Skull=massive faggot that can't be trusted
Wolf=DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD
I've never bought any weapons off nimble, is it worth getting an exo suit from him?
I love that the characters develop over the course of the games, I personally like Skull <3
Skull is just the man getting by in the zone. Being a merc aint easy.
I've never bought any weapons off nimble, is it worth getting an exo suit from him?
You are missing both quests and excellent weapons, mate.
I love that the characters develop over the course of the games, I personally like Skull <3
"Hey you worthless motherfucker, wanna overthrow a faction for 10,000RU? If not, piss off!"
Man, I hated Skull with a passion in SoC. He and Mitay are the only Dutyers I hate. The fact that he joined a merc team that was supposed to [sp]sabotage the research team in Yanov[/sp] made me hate him even more!
You are missing both quests and excellent weapons, mate.
He does quests now?
He does quests now?
Buy a weapon and you'll see.
Buy a weapon and you'll see.
Man, I hated that part in the game. Then again it's a homage to that part of CS everyone rages at.
I'm in for some fun aren't I :saddowns:
