The trees look odd with soft edges.
That's about half the amount of leather jackets lurk hosts
Speaking of LURK, is it worth buying a stalker suit straight away? I've got enough but I think i might save up, note that I've only just got to the bar.
I think it should, it's far better than Merc suit or bandit jacket.
I think it should, it's far better than Merc suit or bandit jacket.
Will I still get the duty suit or SEVA if I work for ecologists/duty or did he remove them too?
I think he didn't. Check it out, I didn't managed to go so deep in the game. Try asking guys like Sarkhaov or Petrenko about the suit. There should have been a special white ecologist suit IIRC...

I think you'll need it if you want to go in Dark Valley and X18 due to a stupidly placed radiation pocket. On the other hand, Stalker suit and some antirad artifact is perfectly fine for that kind of a stunt.

Or, you know, cough up some more cash and pay for both suits or take the---- oh yea, forgot that every outside suit is a LEATHER JACKET.
I need something extremely over the top for STALKER, just beat it finally. :3:
Or, you know, cough up some more cash and pay for both suits or take the---- oh yea, forgot that every outside suit is a LEATHER JACKET.
What about stash suits like the one at the bar near rostok entrance?
I think those are taken out as well. Ask Holden, I never really got a load of stashes.
Anyone know where I can find a protective suit so we can go to Pripyat? I'm not buying one for 33k RU.
No suits in stashes, I have to do the damn story missions before I can do the Duty missions and get the suit for sakharov .
Anyone know where I can find a protective suit so we can go to Pripyat? If I like Fallout 3, should I purchase, and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?
If I like Fallout 3, should I purchase, and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?
STALKER and Fallout 3 are two different species in the same genre. Fallout 3 is more RPG-ish and not as difficult. it's also got a different post-apocalyptic-feeling than STALKER.
If I like Fallout 3, should I purchase, and play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?
They're completely different games. Fallout 3 is a very character driven story with a shitty main plot and handholding turn based VATS system. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is an FPS that relies heavily on atmosphere with somewhat linear plot progression, an interesting story, somewhat clunky shooting mechanics and a whole lot of charm.
I wouldn't call Fallout 3's story shitty, but this isn't the Fallout 3 thread so I won't argue any further.
Eh, it is. It's just Fallout: Dad Quest
Alright, I'll try it out anyway.
I wouldn't call Fallout 3's story shitty
The end was so incomprehensibly shitty, I can't even imagine they hired a writer, they must have just winged it. I have to make some big ultimatum over killing myself or some loud annoying self-important bitch who I just met half an hour ago, so I can save a water purification system I just learned about an hour ago. There's no freeplay afterwards so I don't give a fuck anyways and I have the fucking ogre guy in my party anyways who became acquainted with me on the pretext that he was fucking immune to the rads that would have killed me in that goddamn chamber in THE FUCKING FIRST PLACE. I asked him but he said some vague bullshit smoke and mirrors statement like "This is your destiny" or something. I sent the whore in and I was greeted by a sequence of sepiatone JPEG images, depicting one of the AMAZING cut and paste 300 endings this game had to offer, that only served to narrate the other cut and paste experiences I had experienced through fighting the same enemies again and again on the same looking barren territory by spamming VATS on their heads and waiting for my AP to recharge. I beat that whole fucking game and to this day I ask myself 'why'. It infuriates me to this day that this game got GOTY everywhere, Jesus Christ people. ANYWAYS I believe Fallout can be good if it sticks to either actually DIFFICULT turn based strategy, or full on FPS combat. This in between bullshit is fucking terrible, honestly it feels like I'm playing Valkyria Chronicles with only one character, which is kinda like playing Chess with only one piece for 8 hours.
... because people have opinions and not all of them reflect yours? (although I do know that there are people out there who agree with you. but still...) anyways, on topic, ya gotta love Ashot and Yar's conversations over the Freedom base Intercom in Clear Sky.

EDIT: the good old days: Ashot and Yar:
That's what I had to do... Hunted a lot of mutants, the FUCKING Chimera was SO FUCKING HARD TO KILL. Why don't these fucking things DIE? I mean, really... I wasted a whole 10+ clips on that fucking thing. And then wasted 15+ clips on that thing in [sp]the little lab looking for the documents for the Gauss rifle[/sp] The mass amounts of health mutants have is ridiculous... That's why I love fighting zombies. cause I can get them with a headshot, easy.
... because people have opinions and not all of them reflect yours?
That's a cop out. This is a discussion board, and if opinions weren't discussed then we'd have nothing to talk about, and this site would just be a newsfeed with one post topics. Bringing out the captain obvious 'opinions aren't facts' point is the basic equivalent of running in on a philosophical debate and saying 'well that's like, your opinion man'. The fact that it's an opinion isn't the point and I will fucking post this every time somebody tries to make it seem that way.
True that.
I always tought that FO3 is a mashup between the first two Fallouts and STALKER. Anyhow, just got the subtitles working in SoC, along with the full Russian voices. The only problem is that I can't get used to it, but it's fixable soon enough. I think I'll combine it with LURK after I finally finish downloading the thing.
Got CoP and it won't start up. The process will show but it stops around 9300kb. Any further attempts to start it just bring up a further process that stops around the same area :frown:
Fallout 3 felt like it was trying to be STALKER, boy did it fail.
