I always tought that FO3 is a mashup between the first two Fallouts and STALKER.
Anyhow, just got the subtitles working in SoC, along with the full Russian voices. The only problem is that I can't get used to it, but it's fixable soon enough. I think I'll combine it with LURK after I finally finish downloading the thing.
you "tought" wrong then.
Because FO3 is FO1/2 with Oblivion
Saying FO1/2 and STALKER would be like saying Half-Life one is ArmA2 and Halo
Hey guys, I'm back. Anyway, those new screens look great, Holden. Does this mean LURK 1.1 is closer to release, or are you still waiting on your animator (who seems to have slipped into a pocket of valve time)?
Well, I never really got around to play Oblivion(This isn't a sin, right? Right?!), so a mashup of FO1, FO2 and STALKER is the closest thing I can compare FO3 to.

But FO3 is just missing the...danger of STALKER's world. I remember the moment I realized this. I was walking about the wasteland, trying to reach a radar station. Night began to fall, and, being a STALKER veteran, I started getting nervous about being caught out at night.
So, night fell. It got slightly darker and enemy spawns stayed the same. I heaved a sigh and went to shoot some raiders. Yeah, I know mods make this game better, but it just feels bland all over, you know?
Yea. The only time I went outside in STALKER during night was in CoP, when I had to rescue Mitay. Instead of asking for a guide in Yanov I just followed the roads, during midnight. Nearly shat myself half way there, by the Tesla Anomaly traincar. Seriously, when you see a pair of glowing white eyes, you just want to run all the way to where you came from.
Fallout 3 was fun the first playthrough, I tried making another character and I got bored when I found Megaton. The only interesting quest in the whole game is the android quest.
which is the best vss when fully upgraded? the nimble one the one you find in the stash or the scopeless version people use later in the game?

It is called AS VAL.
Also the best VSS in CoP is the Surf or whatever.
So here I am in LURK, going to the railroad roadblock, when all out of sudden I see Tolik and a guy called Clumsy running away from a bloodsucker, shouting "I should have prepared better!" And that's for not listening to Wolf when he says that you should always gear up before going deeper.

It's Tide :pseudo:
SoC hates people that try to do the hinge breaker glitch.
It gave me a BSOD :tinfoil:
Then be a man and find some keys!
Seriously, Those damn hotel doors are annoying as hell. I am loaded up with an Exoskeleton, GP-37, I have a rocket launcher and a fucking GAUSS RIFLE, and I can't blast open a damaged wooden door.
The zone has mutated all wood to be extremely dense and unbreakable.
Damn you, wood! DAAAAAAAAAAMN YOUUUUUU!
Oh yea, does anyone else think that everything organic in the Zone is anomalous, except the humans?
Oh yea, and since there will be stalkeresses in the next trilogy, does anyone think that they might have children? It's a dumb suggestion but hey, I doubt that condoms would be for sale everywhere.
I doubt it. If there were children, than the soccer moms and politicians would go crazy. As would the media and everyone who doesn't play video games.
That'd be kinda great, free publicity! :D
Although it might end up banned and that's maybe not as great...
I can understand women in the zone, but children? No, stop, Stalker isn't a game where you go out in the worlds most hazardous, toxic, hostile area and hunt for radioactive artifacts and fight hardened and lethal criminals and soldiers, only to come home to a happy little zone family complete with children.
Have you watched the movie? In the movie the stalker has a wife and a child.
Have you watched the movie? In the movie the stalker has a wife and a child.
Have you played the game? GSC's 'zone' and universe is completely different from the movie. Sure, GSC based parts of the game around the movie, but it's certainly not a game about the movie.
And to be nitpicky, his wife and child lives outside the Zone. :smug:
Well, I'd never really expect a kid to go out of places like Rostok due to the amount of security and the size of the place. Army warehouses would be filled with teens, tho.
Then again, there would only be like, a kid or two, imagine raising a kid in such a ruthless place.

Well, sure but they live next to a nuclear power plant...
And the zone is basically the same except for "playable" locations.
Play the 1935 build and tell me they didn't want to replicate more from the movie, except that it's not very game-friendly. It's more like a sight-seeing tour of "our idea of the zone"
Well, sure but they live next to a nuclear power plant...
Wait what? Isn't it taking place in central Russia, unlike in the games?

Apparently my GPU has somehow broke and it caused the BSOD and all the other problems I got.
Fucking hell I need a new one, it has to be cheap, and as good or better as my old 8800.

Um, the game's zone is very different from the movie's. I can't be arsed to bring up everything but just look at the relatively large population, the factions, mutants and so on.
In the movie, the only people that are 'in' the zone (other than the three main characters) are the military forces guarding the border.
Also, 1935 is not the final game, nor the upcoming Stalker 2.
lol nerd fight

Did you read what i wrote? That's what i just said. It's the same basic idea but this time built for a game, ie. a lot of things has to change. I'm just saying the basic idea is the same...
And i consider having families a basic idea.
What's the movie's name again?
