Was that a mod taking credit for all the tech in the cry engine?
Pretty much sums it up
How would it help with accuracy unless they had a controller that functioned like a gun?
What accuracy? Where did I say anything about accuracy?

Fuck, it better not cost like a thousand bucks. FUCK YOU VBS2, YOU ARE SO AMAZING BUT WHY MUST YOU COST A THOUSAND BUCKS!!!
Was that a mod taking credit for all the tech in the cry engine?
No, a new game which uses the CryEngine 3.
Fuck, it better not cost like a thousand bucks. FUCK YOU VBS2, YOU ARE SO AMAZING BUT WHY MUST YOU COST A THOUSAND BUCKS!!!
Because it's not a game for little kiddies.

Might as well be a mod. It is claiming the tech as it's own though.

Ah, military marksmanship trainer. They basically do the same stuff used on VBS2 shooting trainers. Dslyecxi did something on that in one of his articles.
amazing physics like real calculated bullet drop and whatnot has always been a massive want for both tacsim players and developers alike but has never been properly achieved because of the immensive use of processing it'd require to do it.

With tweaking (the default settings are crap), bullets would travel realistically, ricochet and all that stuff.
Really, I am truly trying to see what is so great about this after seeing BmB getting shitstormed to death.
The way I see it, BmB is right with the fact that I have seen this a couple of years ago and played with the sandbox editor for many nights and nothing I see in these videos is in any way new apart from some assets. It could just be a random mod from crymod.com .
@pandemix: I have made huge underground caves with streams and such. Booby traps are no problem, sandbox supports many constraints just like Garrysmod does.
Here is an example of a total conversion mod:

Some real time physics:

And a remake of some Sony commercial apparently, showing that these graphics are really nothing new:

Because saying 1080p is easier than 1920x1080
Also most monitors these days are monitor/tv mixes.

Those people would be the people who just got a new tv

It's not new, but running games at that res, especially crysis, is a bit of a challenge.

I wonder if Project Reality gets released for ArmA 2 if could be a rival.
I wonder if Project Reality gets released for ArmA 2 if could be a rival.
I so wish the PR devs would,in some way, optimize with the mod ArmA2 so it will run better, since the game runs like shit for me.
But obviously that won't happen :smith:
i couldn't tell the difference between this engine's nv and armas nv
It's not new, but running games at that res, especially crysis, is a bit of a challenge.
Depends. A couple 8800s will run Crysis at that resolution just short of very high without too many problems.

I think they might do some optimization but knowing PR devs, their mod will shoot the system requirements up the roof.
It would be better if the objects would be darker, like the shadows would be darker and stuff, it breaks the realism feeling when i see the object like its lighted from all the sides even with the shadows that they have.

That's because it IS lit from all sides. Go outside on a sunny day and you'll see that shadows are are actually still pretty bright. Light scatters through the atmosphere and reflects off of every object it hits. That's why even the shadowed sides of the objects are getting lit, and also the reason you can see the world around you, you see the light reflected off your surroundings. So unless you're in a room covered in a material that absorbs 100% of the light hitting it, shadows will never be completely dark.
[editline]8th January 2011[/editline]
I've actually heard people say Doom 3 was realistic because there was no ambient light so the shadows in it were pitch-black...
I came.
Would be awesome to make some maps with that engine.

Not all adults have that kind of money laying around.

I really want to try using this engine. It looks pretty powerful.

I know it has to be like that but not as bright as in some places, its ambient occlusion. I meant it looks as bright as it was lit up by a lamp, not the sun light which would still be darker.

On my old computer Bf2 ran fine.
When I ran PR, it took me 15 minutes to load a map.

What?
*Nuclear power plant simulator
What?
Probably a training simulator for the security guards of a nuclear power plant. Even here in Finland, ours are always protected by heavily armed guards.
This looks extremely unimpressive, every feature they "showcased" was just something that was already included CryEngine.
Like others have said, its just like a mod for Crysis. Also it has a shitty name.
