Sure the tech is not new, but has there been any game that actually uses it? Crysis barely scratched the surface of it's full potential. I'd love if this milsim was released to the public because it actually looks very immerse.
That sketchup model import would be nice for making buildings.
Seems like it still doesnt work right though. We had that exporter for quite a long time already (community made)
but it was never possible to export something with textures... You'd always have to edit them in Sandbox 2.
Or you know, use a modeling app to make buildings.

Let's say the instructor wants to create a new scenario including buildings which have layouts based on real-life data. He either doesn't have the required skill for creating one in a generic modelling app or he just doesn't want to spend much time with that. In sketchup you can create large amounts of mid-quality but accurate buildings in a short amount of time. And that's what really matters to serious customers.

This is a very good point, especially concerning the military market.
As it stand with VBS2, the military has to contract BIA for not only the engine and content, but also to create terrains and buildings accurate to real life data.
With this, it looks like they would only need the engine and content, pay for a few hours to learn how it all works, and bam, they can create their own scenarios and mock up details as needed when needed.

Seeing as it's aimed at the military, you're right.
