Things changed last year each day as well, it didn't mean anything - it's just a little story they added. I don't think the badges are related to the sale either or actually mean something, they are just achievements really. If the badges had something to do with the sale then there wouldn't be ones for previous events and other things.

Ah, i completely forgot about that. Seems like they will have some sort of purpose then which is great. Although there are only two ones which you could actually earn at the moment as the rest all required you to be there at the time, no idea what they could be for because of that - it would feel a little unfair for people.

Would be interesting to see Workshop related badges, but that would just promote whoring.
Can the pillar of community badge be done anytime? Or is only available to do during the summer sale?

How can there be no way? They are the ones that implemented the badge system so why can't they just recode the badges to allow them to manually adapt it themselves if glitches occured or maybe fix those glitches.
