Its funny because we wanted to give out those cars we never use rofl
Totally.
One more thing before I go to bed, I have successfully installed DayZ, however, I cannot see my player model and whenever I die, I go to 'debug hell', where there are many people standing still who have presumably died. How do I fix these?
Are you running the latest ArmA beta?
Totally.
I was to wake up this morning check did my friend move everything as i asked him and post the cords of the cars and tents. We got three cars and a bike on another server anyway.
[sp]You missed a car and i'm about to drive it away[/sp]

Well now they'll respawn and be found by people

Missed what car?
Haha buddy, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for summer. Past two years I've been focusing on doing well in my finals (which didn't work out too well, fuck you Physics!) and they're finally done with. Previous summer I didn't get to do this too much as I was staying in the country where I did my finals (Ireland) and my gaming rig is in England. Get to enjoy this summer to the max, so it feels great staying up all night and sitting on this PC 24/7 haha

It's hilarious seeing as the answer to your question is literally 4 posts above you.
Hah. Oh Christ. How embarassing. I'll leave that comment, because I definitely deserve whatever flak I get. :downs:
Anyone know a good guide to using the L85? The scope on it has very blurry crosshairs, but the PEQ laser sight only works with the NV scope, and I cant tell whether the laser sight is affected by zeroing the rifle.
Missed what car?
It's still there lol.
You must be blind

Hey, to be fair, I just posted the same question without checking myself. Only luck saved me from asking the question when it had already been answered so close to my own post. So don't worry about it <3

You need BAF to use the L85A2, lite textures are blurry therefor blurry crosshairs.
There are no bugs, you're using Arrowhead's engine + ArmA2's content.
I recall rocket talking about arma free causing it to be buggier. No idea then.
I'm on the north edge of the map where the wasteland starts, where do I go to steal vehicles and raid camps

A lot of transportation on the FP servers are mostly gone, you should prob wait for a server reset or, find a different server to find em.
Can someone tell me why ~70% of DayZ players hate crosshairs and sidechat?
Like, how does that make the game anything but more irritating? Do people really enjoy beating themselves up or something? I can see why people don't like third person, since it raises the camera up. I really wish they'd add a FOV slider for first person, because the 90 or whatever it is set to is abysmal.
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
On that note, why does the FP server have no crosshairs or side chat, but has third person? How does that make any sense?
Haha, me and my 2 friends were playing for about 4 hours, in a field by Factory and Orlovets and all 3 of us got sniped by a guy with an M107.

Some people just prefer the most realism they can get. I'd prefer there was no side chat and cross hairs, I think it emerges me into the world more.

I can go on different servers, I'm just wondering where people hide their shit

Because it's HARDCORE.
I like side chat though, and third person makes it miles better with a bad framerate.

If we knew, it wouldn't be hidden.
Side chat is annoying. I dont like tons of blue text filling my screen from random people talking about
"OMG Broke my legs in Cherno lol"
I don't care.

Why do you have to drag me down? I play almost totally in third person, and I'm quite immersed. What really breaks my immersion is spending five minutes fiddling with a gear pile because I can't aim very precise to pick something up.
It'd be great if they could just make crosshairs and side chat a clientside thing.

You can increase your FOV by double-tapping the - key on your numpad.
As for crosshairs, they really do remove a significant amount of realism, because if you're firing a weapon from the hip, you're not going to be able to aim it properly at all.
Third person is the most useful for going prone, I've found; since you can see shit all thanks to the thick grass, it'd make stealth more difficult.
Disabling 3rd person and crosshairs would be nice, though.

Then right click. You still see the gear icon when you're using iron sights.

It'd give those who do an unfair advantage. Although if there was an option to 'mute' certain channels (for example, hide side channel while keeping direct viewable) that would be good for those who can't ignore the blue text.

If you were to hide a vehicle where would you put it?
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
on the north side

It's amusing when you're running around all alone.

Yeah, it's annoying sometimes, but at least at my resolution, it's not like it fills the screen or anything. It's not that hard to ignore or anything.

top of mountains, gulches surrounded by trees and bushes, places that are hidden but near roads

How is third person not an unfair advantage? That's enabled on the server. It lets me see out of total cover safely, and around walls, etc. Also the sanity of actually seeing other players talk is hardly an advantage.
As for the bolded part, I don't know if you've handled many firearms in real life, but it really isn't that difficult to fire it like that. Not to mention, in ARMA you actually keep it shouldered whenever you can see it out in front of you, you just don't have your eyes by the sights. It's really easy to aim to a degree without the sights in real life; you just have to be able to see the end of your barrel.

Pobeda Dam to Black lake.
Everyone likes to huddle camps between there.
Third person isn't really an unfair advantage since it's enabled for EVERYONE.

Well you asked the question in general, I dont know how I "dragged you down" and about the fiddling with a gear pile ... Alpha

Gear piles aren't exclusive to DayZ.

Interaction weirdness has nothing to do with Dayz, it's a problem with Arma entirely. And it has been since Operation Flashpoint.

Were trying to get to the factory while hitting the good stuff inbetween... Well
