DayZ Mod - Crawling Simulator 2012 Dammit rocket what did you break this time? - Games

So, I've managed to get DayZ installed, and I've ran through all of the tutorials for Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead so I'm not as cluseless as I could be about the controls, but US133 is an hour behind me, so it's still night on the server, and L won't turn on the flashlight I have in my inventory, so I can't see shit. Any suggestions aside from waiting a few more hours?

Any suggestions aside from waiting a few more hours?[/QUOTE] If you don't have a sidearm equipped, rightclick your flashlight and "Remove from toolbelt" (Though you'll get an error prompt if you have a sidearm.) This will allow you to equip it. Press L and it should work.

Thanks PowerCrunch! Hopped back on and it worked properly, though I soon discovered how much zombies love light. Scariest 45 seconds of gaming in recent memory, I think I'm in love :v: Time for round two, though I should probably go install mumble at some point so I can be killed by players instead of zombies.

So I've been avoiding towns, mainly because I'm not a very stealthy person. How do I go about finding something to defend myself from the shambling menace with?

Barns > houses for pistols > deer stands > miliary tents > airfields

Or do what I do. Barns > players > 'hidden' camps in the north.

It's so hilarious when you snipe a guy in an open spot and other survivors go to check out the body and you get them too. And don't worry i'm aware of how much of an annoying faggot i'm being by sniping for sport, there's just not much else to do when you've got the loot. And besides it's pretty enjoyable.

Even if you miss it's funny the way people react, rolling around excessively is popular, i've even seen a few people jump off tall roofs to avoid getting shot.

We decided to go for the atmosphere and also write a full scale story about our journeys.

[B][I][U]I FUCKING QUIT.[/U][/I][/B] Respawned, new life, ready to have a go at another character. Right off the bat I spawn in Elektro and find a M24 with two mags in one firestation and a silenced M9 in the other, also with two mags. After that, I find a ghillie suit, beans and water, an ALICE (you know, basic stuff you grab before you set out). Then I begin to put a bus together over the next hour from parts in Elektro. After finally getting the fuck together, I goto Berezino and raid the military camp and find a M4A1 CCO SD (bringing my arsenal to a M24, M4A1 CCO SD and M9 Silenced). So I drive through Gorka and my bus at the top of a hill called 'Atlas' or something, figuring its a nice remote place (server has around 8 people on it, I didn't see a soul from Elektro to Berezino). The very [B][I][U]fucking second[/U][/I][/B] I jump out to eat, drink and log out, there just so happens to be one [B][I]SINGLE MOTHERFUCKER[/I][/B] sitting there with a Makarov in the middle of fucking nowhere. One shot headshot - I'm dead, lost all this fucking gear because some cunt was in the right place at the wrong time. I quit this fucking mod. Just...fuck this [B][I]titty fucking piece of fuck.[/I][/B] There is a tolerance for how much frustration I'm willing to endure in order to have fun, now this was the final fucking straw.

And if the frustration of losing that gear outweighs the fun, then this probably isn't the game for you.

It's just gear. The more you have of it, the game doesn't become more fun.
