DayZ Mod - Crawling Simulator 2012 Dammit rocket what did you break this time? - Games

Fell 2 feet through some stairs, broke my legs, fell unconscious and bled out Anyone near Cherno that wants to help out/team up with a new player?

After this zed update and starting with no weapons I can't seem to survive looting through a town. Do I have to prone through the whole entire thing or what.

spent five minutes trying to get rid of wirefencing, failed. Seems like it doesn't prompt you unless you're looking at the stick that was put first, and in that case firestation blockers still run rampant since that bit is on the other side of the wall.

Last guy died, started again. Within the first five minutes, found a Makarov, 3 magazines for it, 3 bandages, a heat pack, a can of soda, a compound crossbow, and 3 steel bolts. However, it appears you can only grab bolts off corpses by getting your invisible cursor in the square-millimeter of screen space where the icon changes from "Loot corpse" to "take steel bolt," because apparently when you loot the corpse, even though it shows the steel bolt in the loot screen, it won't give you the bolt if you click on the "add to my inventory" arrow. I died trying to get my bolts out of zombies (some guy with like 7 zeds chasing him ran past me; I killed all but 4 of them with my Makarov. Had one zombie left after killing the first three with my crossbow.) :v:

Went into the firestation in Cherno armed with a double-barrel, left with an MP5SSD with 4 mags and an M4A3 CCO with 2 mags.

I think I've got a story worthy of a Darwin award to tell you guys. Alright, so I installed ArmA2 and OA on my laptop this afternoon, downloaded the DayZ files and the launcher, booted it up and started up a new character (my previous one died a while back and I've been pretty inactive until today). After about half an hour to an hour of faffing about in towns and around the coast I decide to move inland and find myself a winchester and some ammo. I decide to follow a road into the hillside and after a rather pants-shittingly terrifying crawl through a hillside community that was practically a nest of zeds (quite literally one around every corner) I make it to the top of a hill and decide to see what's around. I soon spot what looks like a building in the middle of a forested hill and decide that - seeing how there's nothing else around - I might as well check it out. Five minutes later and I stumble across a ruin on top of the hill, only a couple of zombies stumbling about, I crawl in through an unguarded entrance and make my way to the keep after some brief exploration and good lord I stumbled across a treasure trove. Here's roughly what was inside it (going off memory here): 3 Steel bolts A crossbow 2 reloads worth of 12 gauge slugs 6 bandages 2 reloads worth of winchester ammo 4 cans of assorted sodas 3 cans of assorted foods (beans and sardines) An ALICE pack And a pair of binoculars Well hot damn, says I as I scoop up the loot and gulp down a can of soda. Deciding that I should get my bearings I climb up to the top of the keep to try out my new binoculars. I check three sides and see nothing but forest and the odd clearing all around but when I get to the fourth I venture right up to the ramparts to get the best view and something catches my eye on top of a ruin. My thumb reaches down... and I press 'v' instead of 'b'... Three guesses as to what happened next...

the moral of the story today is to never fire off your lee enfield in a big town. fired off some shots on some unsuspecting zombies, went from ~40 kills to 124.

Obviously you can use other ammo, but in DayZ the sound of the gun is controlled by the gun used rather than ammo type used. The Enfield isn't -bad- I'd just rather use my M1911 when i'm in a town.

So I was tracking a couple people on the coast. One had a ghillie suit and what looked like an M240/9, and the other had only a rifle/shotgun of sorts. They started running down the street so I followed, then they turned inland and disappeared. Then I heard gunshots off to my left while walking parallel to the hill, and I got scared and booked it.

Lee enfield is for Pvp, because it does one of the highest single shot damage. Connect a single round to the body and they'll drop like a sack of shit.

I think we stumbled upon a glitcher or something.. We were in Stary Sober and I got sniped, so my friend killed the sniper (MistakenFalken or something) and we they were protecting my body for me to return and 2-3 minutes later he was back in Stary Sober with exactly the same loot as before. They killed him again and he returned AGAIN, in 2-3 minutes, with the same loot. This goes on until I return, and he shoots at me, my friend shoots him, and he has the exact same loot again. He must have came back like 5-6 times. There's no way somebody can go to Stary Sober and find the EXACT same loot and get there in 2-3 minutes form any coastline. He had some sort of glitch definitely. After I retrieved my stuff we instantly logged off onto another server. What a butthurt asshole

But saying that once, I died on stary, and respawned inside a build in Novy. Actually inside of it. It broke my legs trying to crawl out of the walls. It's happened to a few people I know.
