Did you ever use it? it had literally no bullet drop and very little recoil, and you act like a fucking thermal scope isn't a big deal
If Rocket removed the L85, I'll be disappointed. To entirely remove it is just stupid, if it was that "over-powered" he should have just made it an absurdly rare find, taking the place of the FAL ANPV S4. And to remove the L85 and leave in fucking anti-materiel rifles (commonly used to DISABLE ARMOURED VEHICLES) is a bit contradictory. Hell, even if he just removed them from the inventories of players who currently have them would be better than eliminating them altogether. Oh well, I hope this is just a bug rather than the L85 actually being removed. And if he did remove them, well... This is my predicted Alpha 1.9.1 changelog:
* [FIXED] Removed all weapons apart from the hatchet, crowbar, and crossbow due to over-powering PVP presence and not enough combat against my zigzog super-intelligent wall-clipping light-speed zombies.
* [FIXED] All vehicles except the bicycle and fishing boat removed.
* [NEW] Zombies now have a small (75%) chance of spawning with, -along the capability to use-, night vision goggles.

I die once ever 1-2 days, not because I'm bad, but because I can easily get the best stuff in the game within 6-7 hours, the rest being luxury, and then I'll just go on a suicide mission somewhere with some friends for giggles and thrills.

i ran around with an l85 for a good 3 weeks or so. it had bullet drop, trust me. you just didnt use it enough to fuckin realise

I fucking had one just before this update went live.
There is bullet drop, there's bullet drop on every fucking gun in the game. You didn't perceive any because it has zeroing. Big fucking difference.
The thermal scope is a big deal. But guess what? That's the advantage of finding one of the rarest weapons in the goddamn game. You fix duping, and it's no longer an issue of balance.
People have suggested removing weapons, modifying weapon stats, modifying weapon accuracy, modifying player damage etc etc all met with rocket's "I don't like artificial balancing" bit.
This is artificial balancing. Who fucking cares that a player has an advantage over another, it's not god mode, we killed a bunch of dudes who all had L85s.

I mean christ they're complaining that their alpha character got a weapon that the main developer feels is unfair (Quite rightly so), did they not think that rocket would add/remove/change weapons in the ALPHA?
I mean he basically said you're all just his testers at the moment in alpha
