The amount of playability this has as an alpha is amazing if you think about it.
Seen a bunch of videos of this game, looks like a bundle of fun, but I don't want to be buying Arma II right now when the steam sales are (maybe) just around the corner.

I hate people who think they are entitled to play a working DayZ... He is letting us be playtesters to find bugs and exploits, while he makes fixes instead of playing the update for two weeks so he can find half the bugs all the testers (Us), will find in a day. You are techically not playing it, you are testing it for Rocket, so he does not have to.

The new feature in the debug monitor shows how visible you are to zombies. So as a player could easily spot you crouch running out in the open from the next town over, so can zombies. You'll just have to think more realistically. I agree sometimes it's a bit bad but just use your head when you're out in the open moving around. EDIT: Oh yeah, sorry, 500 meters definitely seems excessive, missed that somehow.
The only problem I have with it is it makes the eye icon a bit redundant

I want zombies to be even harder so you can't even enter cities without the high risk dying in it alone. Playing alone? Then get to barns and lonely buildings, want fast equipment? Group the hell up. It would bring players closer together, but I already know rocket is going to do it this way.

I never attract zombies.. because I simply must force myself to do so currently because you learn fast in dayz by simply getting your ass wrecked at the start. You learn by mistakes. More end loot possibilities, more things ONLY a city gives but incredible increased difficulty and maybe another zombie type so you won't just run in and shoot off zombies easily or pussy logout from zombies. So expect to have an increased difficulty and more end to end content. [editline]10th July 2012[/editline] Hell, the arma 2 engine even allows for an instance/server change when you reach a certain point, so you easily could add many stations leading to a passworded server which runs the amazing city map zhargabad (every house is enterable) It could be easily a player market or an extremely hard zombie infested city with special stuff in it locked to 10 players so there is still a chance some bandit ass is going to shoot up your butt but you still get to focus on the content of the map.
