You don't need to quote-wrap -mod=@DayZ;? I've never done that before and it's worked flawlessly.

Okay. Also, -skipintro is useful. [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] But like, you need the beta patch thing and the latest version of DayZ? Swedish mirror of ArmAfiles.com seems to have the code file at 1.7.2.3, is that the right one? [editline]14th July 2012[/editline] And anyone got the links for the OA files??
1.61RC1 installation guide for Combined Operations users Make sure your game is updated to BIS patch 1.60 final.(If you use Steam, you have it.) Download BIS patch 1.60 RC1, install it. Use the battleye installer for the release candidate. A2+A2:OA(Both) Steam users: Make sure you updated to the full 1.61 RC patch.. then launch the game as Combined Operations from your steam library. Make sure you have this in the command line of Arrowhead..
"-mod=@Dayz;" -NoSplash
plus whatever else you want to add. Retail users/Non steam arrowhead etc Make a new shortcut on your desktop, browse to your Arrowhead directory, then choose the ArmA2OA.exe file in your root arrowhead folder then finish that, go to your desktop and find the shortcut then go into its properties and then add this to the end of Target line(keep the quotation marks and leave a space between this and the stuff already in the Target line.):
"-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\PATH_TO_ARMA2\arma 2;Expansion;ca;@DayZ;" -nosplash -world=Chernarus
Replace PATH_TO_ARMA2 with wherever your ArmA2 is installed(Not arrowhead).
Could you link 1.61RC again?

I don't know why I'm posting this here, but: It was a pretty fun life, with a guy shooting down from the church. (Watch the video in fullscreen for best quality, you can't see alot when it's that small, also please tell me what you think.)
When I run the setup for battle eye it just closes itself?
That's how it works
I can't connect to a single server.. I get stuck at waiting for host errytime.
I can't connect to a single server.. I get stuck at waiting for host errytime.
Give it a day, most server hosts havent updated yet.
Alrite
I can't connect to a single server.. I get stuck at waiting for host errytime.
I had that and had to downgrade to the previous beta patch
I can't connect to a single server.. I get stuck at waiting for host errytime.
latest beta version doesn't seem to be backwards compatible with the older ones (or at least some of them)
I'm not getting "waiting for host" at all on my server.. not sure what you guys are talking about.
this basically one server?
Whats the username and password for downloading the beta patch, or is there a mirror? I just bought arma 2.
Whats the username and password for downloading the beta patch, or is there a mirror? I just bought arma 2.
Double click the download link and it dodges it.
Everyone who is stuck on waiting for host, try this: Remove the beta file currently in your AMRA 2 directory. Go download the second latest patch and install that instead, once that is installed just go to the beta short cut it creates in the directory and add the mod start up line.
I'm not getting "waiting for host" at all on my server.. not sure what you guys are talking about.
I can join US133 and UK02 fine, every other server I've tried gets stuck on waiting for host.

As you can see, if configured correctly it works fine.. ex: Us133
Bohemia gets thousands of new players through DayZ and then Rocket and Bohemia fuck everything up through inconsistent patches, good job.
Bohemia gets thousands of new players through DayZ and then Rocket and Bohemia fuck everything up through inconsistent patches, good job.
True, not only have we had to deal with which DayZ version actually works and which servers have updated their HIVE so everything WON'T fuck up, we've also had to deal with beta patches that are no longer backwards compatible and a Release Candidate which can't be removed without re-installation.
That is not the problem.. the problem is people who have no clue what they're doing hosting servers. Stop putting your server as the example of always being the best of the best all the time, it's getting tiring.
That is not the problem.. the problem is people who have no clue what they're doing hosting servers. As you can see, if configured correctly it works fine.. ex: Us133
Well obviously, but since we don't have root access to every dayz server it's the only solution
Not everyone always has time to update their server, hence the inconsistencies just after an update and such. Stop putting your server as the example of always being the best of the best all the time, it's getting tiring.
But that's the thing, it IS the best of the best, even from England I get no waiting times or lag on his server, even though it's US Hosted, on UK servers, I sometimes struggle to get past receiving data or Wait for Host for a good 5-10 minutes. DayZ server hosts should know that a new update could come out without Rocket saying another update will come out, and that not configuring their server results in fuck ups because they haven't updated everything.

You just have to deal with the problems as they arrive, just as the dayz dev team are. It's also a beta patch, inconsistencies are expected.
In case anyone hasn't seen it, Dean Hall (Rocket) at Rezzed [editline]x[/editline] Things Rocket said might/will be implemented - dog companions - wildlife enemies (bears, wolves etc.) - radio equipment that would allow global chat - improved infected AI/animation - focus on survival skills - "If you know how find your way by looking at the stars, I want you to be able to do that in game" - online integration/stats system - see your past lives, records, etc. - transition to standalone game, which would drastically improve security - minecraft model of purchasing - buy the alpha, then get updates until launch
