DayZ Mod - Crawling Simulator 2012 Dammit rocket what did you break this time? - Games

Guys, I spawned near Chernogorsk and I now have - 1 alice pack 5 bandages 4 painkillers 4 cans of food 5 cans of drink 2 full canteens 1 empty canteen 1 M1911 w/ 3 mags 1 watch 1 hunting knife I can live sustainably, hunting for food and using my canteens for drink. What I'm wondering is if I should... [B]A.[/B] Head north and do that, decreasing the risk of 1 shot death by players (since zombies are little risk) [B]B.[/B] Try and get morphine (and possibly blood bags) from a Chernogorsk hospital If I go with A now, I could risk being fucked if I break my legs, but if I go with B, I am at serious risk of getting sniped and losing everything, and this is the best I've managed to do yet... Advice?

Advice?[/QUOTE] Do you have an axe and a box of matches? You'll need both to hunt and cook animals. If/when you have those, do a run of Chernogorsk. Supermarket, church, firestation, and the military tents. The big tents will have medical supplies too, so don't even bother with the hospital. The northern-most tents might have weapons or other useful stuff. Once you've done that, get the hell outta there, Chernogorsk is the best place to catch a bullet. Advice?[/QUOTE] Take secret option [B]C[/B] and loot the cherno firestation for a med-tier primary weapon, something like an AK-74 or an M1014, then take to the hospital in either Cherno/Elektro (Either have risks, but Cherno has two, go to the one on the outskirts, less chance of running into a firefight). I'm sure I can find an axe in a farm/industrial away from the coast, but the matches are indeed a problem. I haven't yet found a box of matches in my entire time playing. I've read they spawn in residential buildings so I'm thinking that the best course of action right now is to raid the military tents then head north to vysota in the hope that I will find matches there, otherwise I'll just have to go to other nearby residential areas in the hope of finding them. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the advice.[/QUOTE] I suggest going to the northern hospital in Cherno then. 5 apartment buildings with lots of loot where you are likely to find matches, and a hospital right next to them to get that morphine.

Yay, have survived for about 4 days without any major problem (new record, btw), had my toolbelt almost full and some decent weapons. Decided to go up to the main airfield (forgot its name) for some supplies and player interaction (hadn't met anyone during these days). Took a detour to the Green Mountain to see if there might be an ATV there. Got there, opened the gate which hit me unconscious and broke my legs.. Ontop of that, 4 zombies saw me and started snacking away on my intestines.. Back to square 1 i guess.
