Why'd you rate me dumb for answering your question Spess...
i was literally just about to post this, i thought mumble was supposed to be a place where all fp'ers can find a group to get together with and have fun. now its just a bunch of guys talking about their ~uber secret camp and L85's privacy pls~
Last time we were in a public channel two guys joined and attempted to raid us.
FP isn't exactly friendly.

you fucking told him where your car was you nut.
RC1 no longer supported?
suddenly can't get on the server
Well, what a good first couple of tries. I was doing well until I broke my legs and just couldn't do anything, so I ended up just killing myself. Second try I found a motorcycle, what luck I thought all it needed was gas, then the server reset and I didn't save the bike. Then I had the brightest idea, lets swim to a lighthouse. Got there eventually and found a guy with a boat! I was so excited he didn't shoot me or anything, but he ran away from me, I had no weapons or anything, wish he stayed so he could give me a ride back. So I took another 5 minutes and a swim back to shore and met up my friend and we made a fire in the woods and hopefully I'll survive.
I do apologize that I don't know any of the names of towns or cities or anything (it'd probably make for a more interesting story) I'll learn them eventually,
That was me, I had the same idea and that's when I found the boat lol
But he said the car wasn't on US133. It doesn't matter where the car is unless you know what server it's on.
I can't, the wheel is completely fucked even though it's fine
-PUBLIC SERVICE ANOUNCEMENT-
Use both WASD and MOUSE to steer the car.
The wheel will also stay pointed towards where you moved your mouse.
Alright, so after dying for like the 20th time, I'm finally going to ask. Is anyone recently dead and wants to team up? There's no chance of me surviving alone.

I'd like to team up, though I'm completely lacking any sense of direction and location. I'm in mumble.

Man, I wish I had my mic hooked up I would've told you I had nothing , when I made it back to shore my temp was 20c, Glad I found my friend and we made a fire.lol. Another random question for you, I think I might have seen you before I was the person hiding underneath the small little billboard thing? You had a fire axe out and were following the train tracks?
you fucking told him where your car was you nut.
He will have to find the car on a different server and it's completely fucked, it's not even mine, I just took the M4A1 SD and left it there when it broke

I did that and tried to move it for about 20 minutes, I'm not stupid
Are servers running 94945 patch yet?

when you enter a vehicle press * so you can have free look and be able to see your surroundings
How do you add a Steam shortcut to retail ARMA 2 with the beta patch + DayZ enabled? I tried putting the shortcut I got in some command prompt thing but that gives me some profile error and then all the UI ingame are just blank boxes.
Nevermind. Reading the readme is useful!
Whenever I join US 133, I get "Waiting for character to create." It just stays there, and only on the US 133 server.
Still gonna avoid killing people because you just know there's going to be functionality put in the future that'll make being a bandit reaaaally undesirable to have
Though I suspect that once something like that is put in he'd probably reset humanity

Why though? IMO banditry is a pretty important part of the game right now. Truth be told it's the only thing that makes me actually cautious, considering the zombies are slow and retarded.
I try to be a nice guy. Having a mic means I can defuse situations pretty easily provided the other guy isn't a douche, and I play cautiously enough that I could probably either avoid bandit snipers or kill them before they can disconnect.
-considering the zombies are slow and retarded.
That's what you think until you're walking from the firestation to the ATC at the NW Airfield and some kind soul hiding nearby throws a smoke grenade at you and suddenly there are 30 of them trying to take possession of your ankles.
But yeah in most situations they're pretty retarded.

Because I'd prefer to be on the good guy side is all gameplay wise :)
Teaming up with people is challenging and fun. Being a bandit is as well, but I'd prefer to just be in the teamwork/survival camp over the "bad guy" bandit camp. Thouhg if we could make different characters, I'd certainly enjoy playing bandit from time to time as well.
The only reason why I don't play like this currently (and instead just like to either avoid all contact if I try to play seriously) is because there's currently zero benefit to not being a bandit, which makes everyone want to be one. And as such, trying to do teamwork or help people out is a really stupid move.
In a way it was better back when bandits had to wear the bandit skin - because that was kind of a permanent choice you had to make (even if it was tacky/unrealistic) and it encouraged people to not be a bandit - as if you had a bandit skin you'd be shot from a mile away by everyone. But now, most people just don't care, theres no conciquences to that playstyle.

psa doubletap alt to enable mouse freelook and steer with wasd because steering with the mouse in the game is bullshit
It's fun exploring at night when you only have a flashlight and nothing else. If you die, it doesn't matter and the atmosphere is much more exciting and is actually enjoyable to simply stroll about rather than run everywhere.

Exactly why I love having a G17/M4A3 CCO without NVGs. Really puts you into the atmosphere.
HAha, oh wow, I have to laugh at the skill of some bandits in this game. I figured my bandit life was over a couple of nights ago, so when I met this guy, struggling with some zombies, at the industrial bits in Elektro, on the pipeline walkways with stairs down, with an axe. I figured I would be friendly, so I shot the zombies for him. We started talking, and heard a gunshot, so I said:
Me: "Should we find those guys shooting so we can maybe team up with them as well?"
Him: "What? Oh, yeah, probably. Oh look, they are coming right there!"
Me: "Hello guys! :D"
Him: "I think they are aiming at us- OH FUCK THEY ARE SHOOTING"
Me: "*Girly Scream*"
After this, i ran down the stairs, and took cover behind some concrete thing. I heard shooting, and i was hit, but i looked over the thing I was behind, and about 10 AK bullets into one of the guys head/upper torso. One bandit killed. The other guy I shot aswell, but he DCd, I tried to contact my ally, but he was ded. I searched the bandit, and he had an AKS-74 Kobra, and loads of survival gear. My friend died, but if I had not helped him, The guys would probably have ambushed me.
RIP in peace Knut!

Then I just run in the fire station and take them all out with headshots when they start walking in.
Since I wouldn't be at NW airfield without enough ammo to take care of any zombies and/or players if need be.
I was killed by a bandit while with my homies at base camp and so I started looting Cherno with nothing to lose. Literally I was just running around full sprinting from loot to loot. It was working surprisingly well. I don't know why but everyone was dead. Maybe it had something to do with the giant ball of fire engulfing some part of the city. 5 were dead in the church, 4 were dead in some residential. There was loot EVERYWHERE. After looting for 5 minutes I had gathered everything and more compared to what I had before I died. I wanted to make it back home safe. Here's how I'm doing it.
I found a near empty (5/40) server, at night. I had no compass or map, so I must go by the direction the wind blows. It is very cloudy so it is VERY dark out. I cannot see myself, or the ground. I will not use a flashlight because it will get me spotted. If it sounds like I'm running over a road, I stop, and turn on the light for second to check. Here's what this rough adventure back looks like:
^link says daMmM!
And here's the gear that I got in Cherno in like 5 minutes

Holy hell those medical supplies.
Are you the designated medic of your group or something? I think 9 blood bags is a little overkill :v:
o shit snip

Ya it's probably too much, but I didn't want to spend time interchanging it with the shit at the hospital. I had found them all in an Alice Pack outside a residental, right by a setup tent in the middle of the parking lot. Her dead body had the L85A2 on her as well.
So I spent an hour or so modding Fallout 3 out of boredom
