DayZ Mod - Crawling Simulator 2012 Dammit rocket what did you break this time? - Games

So I bought combined operations and installed, through steam, and when I click play on either Arma:II or OA it brings up checkboxes, all but last 2 are checked, and then it goes black screen like its starting up the game, and then ARMA: II has stopped working, same with OA sept its reinforcements has stopped working? I was installing OA and ARMA: II at same time, I dont know if that affects anything, and by time I was done I only had like 200mb left on harddrive so I don't know if that affects anything either. I verified gamefiles and it said one was missing but it was installed, and I reverified and it did same thing, I don't want to have to reinstall the game cause it took about 2 and a half days due to my sheety internets on this base i pay 50 bucks a month for. PS, I had to wait an entirely too long of a time for these games to finish downloading and I have been really itching to play the whole time, now the damn game isn't working and I have to sit and wait for someone to help me out, so help would be appreciated ;(. Google has done me no justice Update, when I go into the steam gamefiles I can launch the game from the folder just fine, so google did me justice, its a shortcut problem through steam or something.

I regret buying this for me and my brother because my experiences so far have been mixed but mainly quite horrible. Spent a week trying to get this to work, and finely when it did, couldnt join a single server. Bought Arma 2: Opperation Arrowhead for my bro so we could play together. Apparently Dayz Mod hates Arma 2: Free. My internet was especially fast one day so I decided to play. Got on a few servers, had a fun time but got bored because I was alone. Managed to get decent loot and find some "friendly people". I was wrong, got shot in the face and they took all my beans. I have played multiple times since and the experience has been the same: Wait 30 minutes to join a server, get in, play for an hour, get shot in the face. I tried having a fresh start in the facepunch server. When i joined I already had high-tier weapons and loot. The first 10 seconds in the server, sniped in the head. Don't get me wrong, I loved this mod. I felt as if it was worth buying the Combined Operation Pack. It is still in alpha and there are a ton of bugs, I hope the mod becomes better and it isnt abonded when Arma 3 is released. EDIT: But Operation Arrowhead itself is a brilliant game so no regrets there.

Alright I see a Czech backpack, how do I pick it up? I can open the bag, but I see no option to pick it, I can't pick my original one either.

So I'm in Vybor and a zombie broke my bones in one hit. I have no morphine and the only hospitals are in coastal cities. What do I do as a solo player to remedy this? On that note is there anyone near Vybor who has a spare morphine?

How tough are the zombies?

I was in a supermarket near Zelenogorsk and turned around to see someone pointing their gun at me, scared me shitless so I shot them. Sorry if you were friendly :(

So far I'm doing pretty good. Can't remember where I spawned, but I found a small town with a three-story building. Inside that building I found an AK47, four different Makarovs (only took one, obviously :v:), at least a dozen Makarov magazines, at least four bandages, at least 5 chemsticks, at least 5 roadflares, 3 heatpacks, 2 piles of wood, 3 painkillers, 2 soda cans, and tons of shotgun and .45 rounds. No ammo for the AK to be found, though. Ended up leaving with my magazine/bandage bag filled with two bandages and the rest of the bag with Makarov magazines. I left because there was another guy there who was claiming to be friendly, but he was making me paranoid as piss - especially since there was a third guy I never found but I'm confident was shooting at me when I was on the rooftops. I hightailed it into the wooded hills and logged off to eat dinner. I'm contemplating going back in, or calling it good for the night. This is the best I've done thus far. Especially since I started out really badly - I was exploring a complex I spawned by, and there was this one zombie on the other end of the campus (like, he was so far away I could barely see him). Even though I was crouch-walking, he started sprinting at me and hit me. I naturally ran (fresh out of the spawn), which just brought the rest of them on me. Somehow managed to lose them, though, then found that building. Was pretty awesome.

Okay I just spawned in a place called "Otmel" but when I can't find it on the map, nor can I find it if I google "Dayz Otmel" or "Chernarus Otmel" it keeps correcting it to oatmeal :v:
