Actually now that crowbars and hatchets can be used as CQB weapons, living off the land is now technically feasible.
Kill animals for uncooked meat and cook it, water ponds or pumps for water.
But yeah tomorrow I am going to record myself doing the NW Airfield, anybody want to join me?

I had an AS50 and 6 clips but the recent hatchet glitch took it from me....
I found a FAL and a DMR at a crash site which is legit, i'll probably never use the FAL out of fear of losing it. Also i've never seen ammo for it so i've only got the two clips.

I just left the NW airfield, I'm not in a hurry to go back. We were damn lucky nobody else on the server decided to visit it.
In response to the last post of the last page. Kind of awkward when you don't quote and get pageking.
Played with some people which I met up on the mumble server(I'm SevenSpy) but never really made progress as a group as I kept dying haha
But then I went lone wolf and found an AKM with 4 Mags, a bunch of food, a macarov and then headed towards a big red and white tower to eventually become crippled by me closing a gate that squished me against a barricade. I then logged out and hope to find some morphine later..

I wish me and dogmachine got there earlier, we found the pile of mags and the barracks all fenced up, but no one was there.
Thought it would be funny to try and jump off a tent with my motorbike. My bike combusted upon contact, I got thrown off, broken leg, bled down to 1034.7 before I woke up and patched myself up and almost lost my stuff.

Toolboxes I was told, although when I tried it I couldn't do so even with a toolbox

Hopefully in the future Rocket allows converting between FAL and DMR mags, since they're the same ammo type (7.62x51 NATO) and have the same capacity.

There's just 4 players and me on some European server that I'm on, and I fucking find one of them. It's a German! He keeps yelling something at me and aiming his M1014 at my face. I aim my AKM at his and try explaining that I don't speak German. He still keeps yelling some shit, by the sound of his voice he's getting angry. I'm thinking I could just shoot him, but since I found ONE of 4 players on Chernarus, what are the odds that they're actually a team and I'm being ambushed?
Again I try to explain that I don't speak German, this time in my terrible German. But suddenly the guy falls to the ground. Split second of "WTF?" was followed by a FUCKING M107 SOUND. I wasn't taking my chances and sprinted off, zig zagging through the small forest in hopes of surviving. As I keep running, I notice something: There is no second or third shot! He only took out the German guy. I kept running anyway, because I seriously didn't want to die, finally reaching the place I wanted after several minutes, hiding between some trees and disconnecting.

I really want to get a locked server with bits of the DayZ code like the loot and zeds and stuff (and a way better computer) to shoot reenactments of the stories that get posted here everyday with fancy camera movements and good mic quality and such. Shit'd be cash.

I think we all have stories like this. Usually it's some variation of I was unarmed/just saved a guy and he shot me for fun.
