Oh god the fuck I installed it and started playing. After going through my gear I start to hike to where I assume would have been near Little Hill. I see someone running through the trees way off to my right, get ready to shoot in case they're hostile but they disappear into a thicket. I walked for a few more minutes, eventually went AFK for maybe 30 seconds to take a leak, and I go back on. Some guy is staring at me straight in the face. Screamed and logged the fuck out.
Ok so the UAZ i got shot to fuck by is still there nearly a day later. He took the tent and some other misc stuff out of it but otherwise it's fine. i'm pumped but what the fuck. This reinforces my notion that it was a hacker.
What's with the FP server? Was there a new Arma 2 beta patch or DayZ hotfix? I downloaded the latest Arma 2 beta patch (I think), but I still can't connect to the server. Ohmygodholyshit we raided the airfield... and didn't die. We found all of... an AKM, and an M4. with 8 mags for the AKM and 3 for the M4. JJJJJJJJJOY. Not really that loot was kinda anticlimactic. I like the AKM though.

I remember the first time I raided Balota ATC with an image of literal racks fulla guns and cabinets of supplies in my mind and found a couple sad piles of ammo and chemlights on the corners of some empty hangars pretty anticlimactic

So I while moving south along the cost I realized I was low on food/water and went into a village to lot. I find a door that is closed. I open it, it breaks my legs. I am just south of the factory on the east coast. Its going to be a long crawl. All I have to defend myself is an Axe, a shit ton of bandaids, some painkillers, and a bunch of ammo for weapons I don't have. I am down to 8500 blood and have managed to fend of about 6 zombies, getting hit 3 times total. My most dangerous foe since starting DayZ is... a door. I need morphine and it will take a while to crawl to a hospital, 10 miles a way. Should I just server hop and hope I get a lucky morphine spawn?
This game's aiming and shooting mechanics are absolute dogshit. I really enjoy this mod but it would be so much better built on a different game, and most of Arma's features are neat, like the map sizes, and the vehicles (even though anything that isn't aircraft controls terribly), and realistic night and day cycles. But I don't understand why they gave it this terrible clunky movement system, just because it is a "simulator", a term I use lightly, doesn't mean it can't have smooth movement. Also I don't know any other game that would be suitable for this type of mod, so I guess Arma is the best choice. Sorry, just had to rant after losing a close-quaters and awkward as hell gunfight.
Fuck I have had the worse DayZ day. First its me accidently falling off a roof. Then its my mom inturrupting me causing me to to die and have my body which died earlier to despawn, making my stuff dissapear before I could make it back. Then some face punchers over mumble saw me and decided to run me over, sending my body flying. Whyyy.
Great, I managed to raid an airfield three times - finding nothing but smaller items each time, then proceeded to die out of no reason along with my czech backpack and ghillie suit.

Ok, so waiting at a meeting point before the update. I update my client, SUDDENLY IM TELEPORTED OFF THE MAP, and have no choice but to respawn. I respawn in between cherno and elektro, and make my way towards cherno, planning to trek way north to the meeting point again. I loot two medium yields and a gas station, finding some food and drink, and a crossbow with a single bolt. I also saw 5 hatchets along the way, and grab one. Im planning on stopping by windy mountain to loot some deer stands, and halfway there I crash, then I log back in and its night so I cant see shit, and have to transfer to the UK servers. So I go on a UK server, and my hatchet is missing, along with my flashlight. I continue to windy mountain, and along the way accidentally aggro a zombie hiding out in a shed, and I run while bleeding and lose 2k blood before turning around and using my only crossbow bolt to kill him. I am now effectively defenseless and proceed to the deer stand, where I find an AK and 1 mag. Then I loot the other deer stand and find a G17 and a mag for it. I continue to the meeting point, looting lots of deer stands, find another AK mag, a map, a hunting knife, binoculars, more G17 ammo, a shitton of makarov mags, and I kill a sheep and get some raw meat. Along the way I stop by a medium yeild with lots of zombies, and decide to go for it. I go inside, find jack shit, and while im about to leave, 2 zombies come walking up the stairs. Im at the top landing of the barn, low on blood, with all this good stuff, so I go prone and cower in fear waiting for them to leave. And guess what happened? I crashed. :suicide: I make it back to the meeting point with I guess a fairly nice kit, and while it wont replace my CZ550, 5 mags of CZ ammo, and a 25 slot backpack. And if you're complaining about not stopping and turning exactly on a dime but instead on a quarter then you probably are best off playing something other than DayZ. But back to the point: The problem with "clunkiness" in Arma is A. smoothness by default is at [B]50%[/B], lower it in the settings and B. the weapon collision box is [I]absolutely retarded but easily fixable[/I]. Shacktac made "ST Movement" mod specifically because it sucks so much. I can't find the picture of the collision box with attached "rifle" collision box, where if the attached box extending out the front of the human touched anything it would bend the rifle up or down (which is probably what happened to you). So allow me to paint you a picture. [img]http://puu.sh/DJs2[/img] sort of speaks for itself. The ST movement mod fixes this annoying problem by cutting that gun hitbox down to 1/4 the size. I don't know why Rocket hasn't done the same, since the game is 100x easier to get into without having to deal with the "HORRIBLE ROBO CLUNKINESS THAT IS ARMA" as it seems all you new people are capable of complaining about, but really you can plan ahead. Start by not fighting in apartments and not really giving a fuck about cover if you find the cover is so much as twitching your gun if you aim around a bit.

I think we also saw him and two others run into Pushtoshka in Ghillie Suits and with M14's and an M107, if it was him he's terribly shit at being stealthy, we saw him when going 100 km/h in a car before he even saw us, we managed to sneak up on them to save our buddy who they shot near a gas station just south of the city.
Hmm. Enfield, or AK-74u Kobra? I'm looking more for player damage to keep myself safe out in the woods. I've got supplies now and I'm about to go off towards the north, and I have a revolver for the zombies.

In PvP: Enfield > AK-74 In PvE: Enfield < AK-74 Enfield will either knock a player unconscious or kill him in one shot. Don't miss.

Rocket doesn't even have to add it, he just needs to allow clients to run it alongside DayZ.
