Spent all day downloading it, and no; "bad serial number given in setup" marvellous! All the fixes I've found online suggest restarting the pc, validating the game files, running steam as an admin and running the game as an admin. Unfortunately none of this is working for me, does anyone have any suggestions?

De fuck, DayZ is weird I, being a new player, was mindlessly wandering around the forest with a Makarov and 2 mags when I suddenly heard the crackle of a mic. All I heard was a younger guy going BEEP BEEP BEEP over his mic, confused I wandered around until I found him. He was sitting in a car, with no gas, pretending to drive. He was speaking out his entire road trip in great detail. To humor him, I walked in front of the car, in which case he screamed out "OH GOD NO LOOK OUT BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEEP" We both had a laugh, and I was planning on asking him to come along with me until a sniper shot rang out and forcefully removed his brain matter from his skull. We lost a true genius today.
